I have a lever 410 love the gun. The Axe would be good riding on me mower. Do think the screw in choke is of no use for the short barrel.

I think screw in chokes are always useful, cylinder bores aren't very effective at any real distance IMHO.

Don't they call cut down lever guns a mare's leg?

I wouldn't pay a grand for one.
