Default Trump lied and deceived to get into office.

Just watch this 1980's interview and see how different his ideals were!

Actually they were just about the same as today. But for all those who claim he just said what he had to to get elected watch this video and say that again afterwards.

Trump at 34 years old.

*edit* I did attach it but it didnt take for some reason. Should be fixed now.

What politician in the past hadn't lied to get into office?

Is America better off today than in the past decade?
Is America better off today with Trump in office than that evil witch hellery in there?
Those are the only 2 questions that need to be observed.

My ideals were also quite different nearly 40 years ago - I didn't have the 40 year fiasco we've had since then to form my current opinion.

As far as lying and deceiving to get into office - you really do feel silly having made that statement, don't you?

Let me quote one of my favorite lines from around 1880: "let's assume for a moment that you're an idiot, and then that you're in Congress......but I repeat myself". Surprising enough, that statement is as true today as it was then.

Sorry - not speaking of you , but all politicians are thieves, liars, and whores - regardless of parties.

Just my opinion.

Trump at 34 years old.

Donald Trump interview 1980 (Rona Barrett) [Reelin' In The Years Archives] - YouTube
That video proves nothing...how did he lie and deceive...speak plainly man.

If I remember correctly...he decided to throw his name in the hat because he was tired of the status quo and the direction our country was going. He was tired of the politicians paying lip service to the public.

Pssst...he was right!

He straight up said some with no brain and a great big smile would get elected over someone who had unpopular views but were the right views.

Did anyone else immediately see Obama in their head?

I see the problem. The left assumes you are supposed to never learn and never change your mind, even if you are wrong.

No wonder they can’t put up a decent human candidate...they are all stuck on stupid, and can’t learn and move forward based on reality.

It’s like a 12 year old...stomp your feet and repeat it enough, cry and whine and throw a fit, and maybe you’ll win the argument...or just get your way, even if it is the worst thing for you.

Since some of you didnt notice I was being sarcastic. The video (now attached) shows Trump talking about making America great again when he was 34. His ideals are pretty much the same as today. I encourage every to watch the video if you can.

My sarcasm comes across as bitter, caustic humor. Of course, that's normally the intent.

That "who hasn't lied logic" is a pretty slippery slope. I'm a conservative, but that man is an idiot and he doesn't represent anything remotely conservative or republican other than disliking democrats, which isn't a sound basis for any political ideology.

Lol!! I was thinking that too!! No one watched the video I bet!! The video was IN RESPONSE to those claiming he changed his beliefs, lied... blah blah blah..
I voted for Trump for very plain reasons.
This country was headed straight into the toilet.. either complete socialism and the loss of personal property and freedoms and/or a massive Civil War.
I believed that Trump was America's only chance at straightening out. We needed someone willing to take on the entire pestilence that we see in the Democratic party... or... he would be a unifying call to Patriots and legitimate Americans that "the spirit of 1776" was once again called forth. I couldnt be happier with his presidency... I wasnt happy about bump stocks, but it showed he was willing to give SOMETHING... and everyone saw it... it's now clear that the Democrats are not willing to show the same "tolerance" to a President elected by the people as the Republicans did when their fraud of a "messiah" was elected. Its game on... it has been since 2016... this political climate has opened the eyes of a complacent America. Make no mistake... we are at war... and I'm grateful for our Commander in Chief!!
MAGA 2020!!!

The sarcasm was not appreciated. It came across as another Trump bashing thread from the usual Communist suspects. Immigration, economy, jobs, trade, Trump has worked hard to fulfil his promises. He has weathered unjust opposition unlike anything we have ever seen in our country. His reward: impeach 45.

Your error was in expecting people to watch the video. People can now make money when their videos get watched and that means that many of us don't watch them unless we have some idea what to expect and are okay with the makers earning money off of us.

Don't expect people to watch an undescribed Youtube video.

So what! People change. When I was 17, I embraced the SDS (Late 60s). But I was really simply rebelling against my conservative parents. Then joined the Corps in 73. My whole political view changed. So people do indeed switch their political and world views as they age.

Just out of curiosity:

Hillary Clinton used to be a Republican. She embraced several(definitely not all) so-called 'conservative' values. She drifted Democrat mainly due to her advocacy for gun control laws. Suppose she 'changed her mind' and claimed to be conservative now. Supposed she talked a mean game and told you everything you wanted to hear.

Would you believe her?
