HD, that's as brutal a statement as I've ever seen from you.

Literally she does. People like her think of crime as reparations.

If all the clerks had to worry about was getting robbed, shooting someone might be more trouble than it's worth, considering lawsuits and the robber's nutty family members, but it seems that much of the time the robber takes the money and then rapes or kills the clerk.
You have to be proactive and deal with a small situation before it becomes a big problem.
Where I live it's the meth monkeys who are crazy enough to kill you after you give them the money. Since they're scrawny and toothless, most carry a gun or knife.

Good shoot.

Terrible mentality by the family. Shows the amount of entitlement they feel.

BTW this was brother #2 that was killed robbing something.

Stupidity runs in the family by the looks of it.

That would be pointless as she doesn't have the mental capacity.

I kind of laughed at this post. Now, we are being groomed that we can't say anything that while not racist doesn't sound racist. You know, if you had left it at "One Down" at least four people on this board would have flat out called you a racist. Sad days...

When a criminal, robber points a gun at someone, the assumption must be he intends to use it. The clerk in this case was 1/2 sec away from being shot and maybe killed. If he wasn't, he should have been in fear of his life. This could have easily gone the other way and then the clerks family would be the one grieving.

Only in the cop shows do people point guns at each other and don't shoot. Not in real life. Just try it with a cop.

Dollar General should give the employee a big bonus. The only tragedy of this entire matter is that the employee wasn’t allowed to return to the parking lot and finish the ghetto maggot’s family.

How much money does Dollar General keep in their register, not much I suppose.

He would of been better off robbing a bank... no gun needed, only a note and they let you walk out with the cash.

Shame of it is, the clerk will probably be fired over this. Most of these type of stores prohibit employees from having weapons on the store premises. I wouldn't be surprised if the insurance company doesn't pay out something to the family to settle a claim.

I know Florida has a specific statute which denies recovery in a civil suit by anyone who commits a violent felony. I don't know about this state.

I thought the statement from Dollar General was worded very well. It doesn't admit that the employee broke a rule or that they allow ccw because either could be the basis of a lawsuit.

If I was the judge or insurance company or the corporate hqs then my entire official response would be playing the sound bite "ohhhh welllllll."

Story said the crook did shoot back - as he was trying to get the heck out of there - but died just outside the door.

Crook in this case is a great example of why you keep shooting until the threat is down for good. If they are still holding the gun they are still a threat.
