Default Hickory nuts

The good shagbark nuts are getting hard to find, half have worms. Plenty of pignut hickory but I deem them almost worthless, too small and hard to crack. Shagbark asking $5/lb in the husk.

I only have a couple of shagbarks but plenty of shellbarks which, I think, taste almost as good.

We have about a dozen and have been harvesting them, Black walnuts, chestnuts and acorns like crazy. Our squirrels aren’t happy.
