WHATEVER it was, I don't know if I would want to meet it at close quarters armed only with bug spray.

Looks photo shopped to me. I can't imagine that tree holding that many bears. Or that many in one place like that.

That would be something you simply don't see in many lifetimes I would think . I have a tall stand of trees on the way to my barn and I always wear a headlamp at night, and look up to see if there are any cougar and take my dog . One time I was on the way to the chicken coop and our dog managed to work a bear to just off the property line and I backed away and noticed a tree move inside the property fence by the coop and sure enough two little guys came down and wandered towards mother . I just kept backing up.

CAN'T SAY as to PS.. I just found the pic and it looked fun.

LOOKS like Pacific NW from the tree type and if I had to guess I would think it was on Vancouver Island. Almost more bear than people there.

I have a friend who has a place in the middle of the UP of Mich. He has BEARS. I have been sitting on the porch and had 5 different bear rummaging around the food pile. He gets old fry oil from restaurants and mixes it with dog food. The bear love it.

You don't go outside at night though.

Neighborhood Jack Russell Terrier here is absolutely fearless and terrorizes our neighborhood bear. Poor guy goes door to door begging because people have bird feeders and feed their dogs outdoors. Dangerous to have pies in the oven and kitchen windows open when he comes to visit.
