Default Divots On Inside of M&P 9 Slide?

Anybody know what these divots are? Both M&P full size 9s. Both 1.0s. And why two on one and four on another? Couldn't find anything on Google.

Maybe they are Rockwell hardness test spots. If all else fails you could just ask S&W.

They did get back to me, just forgot about answering my own question here.

Said they're machining marks, used to know which CNC machine the slide came out of.
