I saw at Safeway Tuna packed in oil (exp 2015) 69c each.

I live in the North West and I know they have Safeway stores all over the West Coast.

Kroger has Del Monte Vegetables at 26 cents/can when you buy 10, limit 20 per trip. 5 trips and $26.00 (no sales tax on groceries in Texas) later, I had 100 extra assorted cans of veges.
Hunts tomato sauce, paste, diced and whole are all going @49 cents/can. Less than $50.00 got me a 100 cans of tomatoes.

I have noticed a price variance in different regions. Milk, until a couple of weeks ago, was going for 99 cents/gal (up to $1.49 now) and I don't believe you were getting that in the Bartlett area (I spent years living in Tipton County and working in Bartlett) and I've had friends telling me about sales there that Texas doesn't touch.
Major grocery chains have regional promotional budgets, hence the fine print, "at participating stores"..........

Does Texas Kroger have a online sales paper?

I am so jealous, honestly, you are so lucky man!!!

I hate to say it, but cheat. Get 20 every day, if not more!

I just wonder if their is anyway to get them to honor that sale here in NC?

I just went to pull the ad up and post a link (Kroger Ad; zip code 75025), but it's not even showing the vegetables at all now. Must be a in store promotion??
I did notice that Progresso Soups are 98 cents/can!! and the ad runs through Feb 8th.
My wife is gonna kick my a$$ if I bring another can of soup in this house!!! Oh well........... what do they say about it being easier to ask for forgivness instead of asking for permission??

Maybe she won't look under the bed..............

Progresso Soup is epic. I use Mushroom soup with my deer meat. I work it into a thick Rue and add extra mushrooms.

My only fear is that they apart of the progressive movement. (probably stupid of me)

Seriously man, I just posted a thread on those vegetables lasting WAAAAAY past the expiration date. Buy all they got.

I use the website: dealstomeals.com
to find great bargains. It's all about food storage. At the moment she covers the ads for around 12 states, and if the price is in red...then in means it is a great price and to stock up. She then has a weeks menu using the items that are on sale. It is a couple bucks a month to sign up for , but I think it is worth it. I'm trying to buy items that are listed listed in red, and use coupons for them too.

Our Kroger just had the Del Monte stuff for 50 cents a can when you buy 10, but 26 cents???? Grr.

Nothing exciting at our Kroger right now, except they have their brand of batteries for 88 cents (4 pack of AA, 2C or D, etc.)

If anyone has a Big Lots near stop by. I just bought a bunch of pasta at 80 cents per one LB bag. Elbows, Bowties, Penne, a bunch of different ones. Exp. dates 05/13. I don't know but that's a good price for where I'm at for sure. I find lots of great deals there.

After her Dad in N. Mississippi told my wife that at 26 cents/can, she had better make room for all she could get, she dragged me back to Kroger last night. The Store Mgr., who was restocking the end cap display, said that it was a regional promotion and since the sale ended today (2-8-11) for us to take all we wanted and to nevermind the limit of 20. He has plenty in backstock thinking that people would buy more than they did.
For less than $95.00, we rolled out of there with 360 cans of a variety of vegetables. Everything from spinach to seasoned green beans, carrots to diced potatoes. All of them dated well into 2013. We also took advantage of the 45 cent/can Hunts tomato products. For a little over $100.00 we brought home 240 cans of everything from diced tomatoes to sauce, whole tomatoes to paste and stewed. We were turning some heads when we were loading the back of my truck.
The young man helping us load the back of my truck just kept smiling and shaking his head. I tipped him $5.00 and told him that when they ask you what we're doing with all this, "Just tell them that we're making hay while the sun shines!"
My Dad use to say that "The Big Guy upstairs smiles on idiots and children!" Guess that includes me!
