Im a little confused here.

Are you saying youre plan is to intentionally just shoot to "wound", and only shoot once?

Sounds like you might want to do a little research and/or get some training.

I disagree you can shoot until the threat is eliminated. My original military training was to shoot in three round burst. That is my plan.

No what it means is the person attacking you does not care that you have a firearm. If you have had to resort to deadly force and the person is still attacking you what does that say about their mental state of mind? Good luck with the one shot theory.

Which is 1-2 well placed rounds of .357 or .45 or .44, or 10mm. Or, you can opt for 2-3 magazines of 9 mike mike. Take your pick.

If it takes you 2-3 mags of 9mm, then the others arent going to do you any good, and the problem isnt the ammo.

I don't believe that for one second, you MUST shoot until the threat is stopped, otherwise don't need to shoot at all (there was no threat to begin with) Police don't shoot once and "just give up" and no worthy prosecutor is going to argue such BS and be taken seriously.

Exactly! Two of my CCW instructors were former cops. Both stated "shoot until the threat is neutralized".

And, not to restart the never ending .45ACP vs. all other calibers debate in this thread, one shot from a .45 does NOT also guarantee the perp is going down and staying down.
