Great story. I am glad the guy got his gun back. But I have a question. In the 5th photo from the top it shows the muzzle end of the barrel with rust in it. Looking at that barrel the rifling is very distinct. Is that an after market barrel? I thought the Glock polygonal rifling was more of an oval shape?

I think its a factory barrel. Looks like one to me anyway. I think the rust is just accentuating the rifling.

ETA: The serial number on the barrel is the same as the gun, so I think that clears it up.

Yea, that heavy old 1911 they were using is probably gone forever. LOL.

Lucky for him, that Glock was probably found by a Blue Fin that knew a good thing when it saw it, and was using it for "school security" against predators, and just happened to get snagged by the net with the rest of the class.
