We were talking about it at the gun shop and that is what I and everyone else said as well.
I really think, thought not keeping true to the original, making them in 7.62x39 would have been a smarter idea given the availability. Or at least offer a model in that caliber.
That's great that they're bringing back a classic. It sucks that it's in a caliber that no one can find. They should come out with a few different caliber rifles so people can get it in something they have ammo for or can buy at their local store.
I think that problem has already be solved for the time being but maybe not in the future way things are going. I mean when you have Senators up there trying to get bill pass banning certain parts on firearms that they don't even know what the parts actually do how do you fight that kind of nonsense. Get them while you can, thats about all there is to it.
Senators do not create bills, they're merely salesman. The interest groups do their homework, then write the bill, have a group of lawyers comb it over, then produced their finish product to the "Sales" department.
I agree about get em while you can. However, I am getting affordable ones I can hand down to my poor kids and possibly theirs too. I got an army of little sailinghudson's to ration out.
you guys have expensive tastes no doubt. $6500 expensive? I thought those puppies go for 8 on up.
WIthout question, it's one of the coolest new offerings out there. Anyone with even a moderate interest in WW2 history would want one. The million dollar idea would be to make them in 7.62 x 39 and manufacture them to accept standard AK Mags.... oh, and one more thing... price: $995. They would sell a ton.
Who is going to pay over $4000 for one of these. I think that by pricing the 44 at this level, the manufacturer is ensuring that 98% of potentially interested buyers won't take action...
IF you have the money to buy a repro for $4,500+ god knows for mags and ammo for it, why not get your C&R and get a REAL Stg 44 that's still select fire, for $10,00-20,000?
I saw a couple lately (figured they were stolen or bubba repros or something, cause I could not believe it...), and I honestly did not know of a C&R exception for F/A originals, anyone have any info on that? I can't find a clear ATF approved list for it, and I might just sell my truck to have one. LOL
Also, sportsmansguide has 7,92 kurz, and so does midway. Last I checked it's about $12-14 a box...
