Default New Production Stg. 44

Advertise Here

Here you go all WWII collectors/buffs;

PTR Inc. has begun importing a new reproduciton of the Stg. 44 in the original 7.92x33mm. They haven't posted the MSRP but say to "call for pricing".

More info in the press release here;
http://www.ptr91.com/ptr44.html

Looks just like the original to me.

LMAO!!!

We were talking about it at the gun shop and that is what I and everyone else said as well.

I really think, thought not keeping true to the original, making them in 7.62x39 would have been a smarter idea given the availability. Or at least offer a model in that caliber.

I'm pretty sure you'd have to custom make brass for the original cal, i havent found anywhere to buy it.

Unless PTR Inc. plans on having a manufacturer produce ammo for it, either way it will be expensive. Perhaps there is a kit to neck down some 7.92?

That's a pretty cool idea bringing back a classic like that.

I've been following these for a while. Always been a big fan of the classics. Nice to see they are finallycoming to the US.

Here's a link to the original maker-

That's great that they're bringing back a classic. It sucks that it's in a caliber that no one can find. They should come out with a few different caliber rifles so people can get it in something they have ammo for or can buy at their local store.

Wow, 4,200 smakers for that thing. That's not even tax. I don't even spend that much on a car let alone a gun. I think I'll pass.

I don't get it. How can they import that for sporting purposes if they can't import HK 91 and 93. They are built in Germany.

I don't think there is a historical value exemption to the ban on importation of assault weapons. I think everything being sold now has a US made receivers and the rest of the 10 US made parts. I could be wrong.

I think that problem has already be solved for the time being but maybe not in the future way things are going. I mean when you have Senators up there trying to get bill pass banning certain parts on firearms that they don't even know what the parts actually do how do you fight that kind of nonsense. Get them while you can,thats about all there is to it.

I had a chance at an original transferable STG44 about 9 years ago for the then expensive price of............ $6,500.

The guy who owned it used to take .308 brass cut it, then neck it down to 7.92.

Senators do not create bills, they're merely salesman. The interest groups do their homework, then write the bill, have a group of lawyers comb it over, then produced their finish product to the "Sales" department.

I agree about get em while you can. However, I am getting affordable ones I can hand down to my poor kids and possibly theirs too. I got an army of little sailinghudson's to ration out.

you guys have expensive tastes no doubt. $6500 expensive? I thought those puppies go for 8 on up.

WIthout question, it's one of the coolest new offerings out there. Anyone with even a moderate interest in WW2 history would want one. The million dollar idea would be to make them in 7.62 x 39 and manufacture them to accept standard AK Mags.... oh, and one more thing... price: $995. They would sell a ton.

Who is going to pay over $4000 for one of these. I think that by pricing the 44 at this level, the manufacturer is ensuring that 98% of potentially interested buyers won't take action...
