Default Extrude Honing/Airflow smoothing?

Advertise Here

Hello there -

I have an old Springer (Fienwerkbau 124 Sport) that is due a seal replacement after over 40 Years' service. Has any research been done, or is Airgun Engineering now paying attention to smoothing/optimising the passages between the Piston and the base of the Pellet?

Looking inside my 124, it seems that the passages are Sub-Caliber (by quite a bit) - wouldn't some gains be realized by reducing flow losses? Is there a reason for smaller passages?

Thanks!
