My family is completing a 30 day challenge we're calling the pioneer diet. We can only eat what we've grown, preserved, foraged,or bartered for here in north Idaho. We've got 2 weeks up so far, if you're interested in following along check it out @

I'm near Big Sur, a guy I know did that for a year. He made it, did a little blog about it. I found out about it because he took my hunter education class (so he could hunt legally)
they devised rules and such, he could not use anything modern or something like that, unless there was some legal requirement, like he could spend cash to buy a hunting license, to meet a legal requirement.
actually, i found a news reference to it, http://www.montereycountyweekly.com/...c5c54c260.html
here is the blog, http://zombiesinbigsur.blogspot.com/

We've been fishing Kokanee. It's not hunting season so we've been bartering for game meat.

Why do they always insist on referring to a "zombie apocalypse" when someone does anything remotely survivalists?
