The Sphinx is also a cool option

I'd go with the P229 over the P225. The P225 isn't that much smaller and has half the capacity. Also you can carry a 20rd P226 mag as a spare with the P229.

If you go with the P229 check out the P229 Legion. Lots of desirable features for the money. When I buy a sig it'll be a legion.
I have both a CZ P-01 Omega that I Cajunized and a Sig P229 Legion; a pretty fair comparison. I love them both. I have been carrying the CZ for a few years. REALLY like it. Just got the Sig, weighed them both and the CZ is 3.5 ounces lighter and the grip is a little thinner (with G-10 grips) but not super noticeable. I think the CZ carries a bit easier.

However, I had to put about $350 into the CZ in grips and parts from Cajun Gun Works to get it to the same level as the Sig Legion straight off the shelf. All said and done I spend about $900 had had to do a bunch gunsmithing on the CZ, I got the SIG for $999 used (in like new condition) and had to do nothing to it.

So the customized CZ is better, and still cost less? Sounds like a win for the CZ...

Thread is 3 years old... guessing the question was answered and acted upon.

But yes, the Sig mentioned and CZs mentioned are both in the top 5 of modern selections given their long track record for success across the globe.

Pretty much. It just depends on my mood now... I sometimes get a bit of ADHD and rotate my carry piece.
