I've got a few guides but line drawings without any sense of scale don't seem to be of much help. I need more of a "point and grunt" level of instruction. Anything within a 1.5hr drive of the eastern shore would be perfect. I can go further if necessary.

I am on the Florida side of Perdido Bay. The five books I have on the subject are: Florida's Edible Wild Plants by Peggy Lantz. Southeast Foraging, by Chris Bennett, Edible Wild Plants, Eastern/Central North America. Florida's Incredible Wild Edibles, by R. Deuerling and P Lantz, and Nature's Garden, Guide to identifying, Harvesting, and Preparing Edible Wild Plants, by Samuel Thayer.
