Default Deer Airgun Kill on Video with .357 Pellet

Shot distance was 60 yards, lung shot quartering away, complete pass thru except that the pellet got caught under the skin on the far side after passing thru the far shoulder blade. 81 grain JSB pellet, the airgun was a modified Evanix Rainstorm 2, pellet speed was an estimated 900fps out the muzzle.

About the same energy or a hair less energy as a .22LR. But lets see your .22LR do this...

All I got is a big blank space above your text. Interesting roughly 1/2 the bullet weight of a 38 Special at about the same speed.

Lots of bullets are found under the hide on the off side. The skin stretches out real far then snaps back.

Maybe this is it. You can go to the 3:50 mark to see the shot and skip all the glassing. It was surprising how load it was. I had a Marlin lever in 32 Mag and made some lead bullet loads with a 76gr bullet and just a pinch or Bullseye powder and it was about as quiet as a CB 22 and still clocked 960fps over the chono.

Hmm, seems like pasting the link from my phone instead of my desktop fixed it?

Yes have vid in your original post now. Very interesting. Seemed really quiet and effective enough. Hard to argue with success.

I'm not trying to spam videos. I'm just posting this one to show that my experience doesn't seem to be isolated. Here's a different model .357 airgun that takes several deer off of food plots. Most of the deer in the video die exactly like mine, strongly suggesting that there is a commonality as to how .357 airguns perform on lung shots:

I like this. What is the weight of the pellet and velocity? I have been interested in big bore airguns for quite a while. Thanks

In my video, the pellet was 81 grains with a muzzle velocity of 900fps. I can’t say what they were using in the Benjamin Bulldog video.

The gun in my video is my buddy’s gun I sold him after I bought it refurbished and rebuilt it. My personal airgun hunting rigs for whitetails is a .308 that shoots a 98 grain hollowpoint at 950fps, a .45 that shoots a 218 gr hp at 830fps, and a .300 that shoots a 60 gr hp at 930fps. I don’t have any videos yet for those guns. I don’t currently own a .357 like I used in the videk. I also have a .300 carbine that will shoot a 45 gr pellet at 860fps on its current settings for 60 or so full powered shots. But that gun is probably best used for brain shots only.
