I admit that I am terminally cynical about these "hurricane forecasts". But think about it...how many years in, say, the last 10 did we not have 3-5 named storms make US landfall? How many years have we not had about 10 hurricanes? I mean, it's like they take a statistical average or a statistical mean and make it their forecast. Then they adjust it throughout hurricane season and then, magically, they are just about right when it's over. Sounds like a pretty average season to me.

They say it over and over.

Sometimes it is, sometimes it's not.

FYI: I got a GF into doing Flood Insurance Adjusting like I did.
She said last year was apparently most expensive... (I find that hard to believe, but she said 5 hurricanes....)

Same story, different year. And still a large percentage of people will be woefully unprepared.
