What a great Astros finish game for the AL Pennant. Altuve rules!

My daughter saw one of their games in NYC and reports that the fans there are impossibly rude. One was so nasty to two Astros girls he was removed by security and then the others started in; finally management moved the girls to another section. There were other incidences as well. Good riddance to bad NY rubbish.

I hope Washington can show more class than the trailer trash up the freeway.

"Too goofy" huh? The WS should've been over a week ago, not startin' the fourth week of October. If weather turns funky they could be lucky to finish by Vets Day.

Top 9 Yankees Elated
Bottom 9 Yankees Crying on the Plane Home

By the way, some Yankee fans were saying F Altuve, F Altuve at the end of game 5
Well Altuve answered them with Vasoline and Sand

The day they switched to the AL I haven't watched a pitch since.

The DH rule is a disgrace. The Astros were famous for having the best batting by pitchers for decades. Many even filled in as pinch hitters. Plenty of homers by them too.

Either they switch back or the AL loses the DH. Otherwise I'm done with baseball. After 6 years I've learned to live without them.
The purest in me agrees with you. The fan in me doesn't pay to watch pitchers hit.

Once you've seen the pitcher smack one into left field to send in the runner, or pull off a perfect bunt squeeze play then you are hooked.

The history of the Astros is Whiteyball, after Whitey Herzog's preaching of "small ball". Defense, hard pitching, getting the ball in play, and running the bases like demons. Fight and scratch for everything. The DH is a big fat shortcut in baseball strategy designed to entertain the casual fan with big hit production.

I'd rather see a 2 to 1 score game that was hard fought rather than a 9 to 6 slugfest.

Any team that can knock off the Yankees is OK in my book.

Yes, I was a Red Sox fan until the Yawkey family sold out.

Iíve lived in Northern Virginia 21 years and have been to all the professional sports venues and have never seen opposing fans get abused. That doesnít mean it hasnít happened but itís not common. Washington fans are some of the most knowledgeable and loyal in the country.

Would you rather they just do away with the playoffs and have the top team from each league meet in the World Series soon as the regular season ends, a la 50+ years ago?

Maybe it's just me, but I'll take all the baseball I can get, especially October (or even November) baseball.

How about startin' the end of March, goin' 154 games. If you have Wild Cards, best 2 of 3. Division championships, again 2 of 3. Same with LCS. World Series best of 7 still but get it over before Hallowe'en.

Only baseball in October should be the WS. Reggie Jackson is Mister October for a reason.

A huge part of the reason why baseball is played into October is that the players' union negotiated out doubleheaders and negotiated in travel days. I understand all that, I would want it if I were they too. But it's not MLB's choice...it's the players choice.

Apparently there was a sideshow in the first few rows of the game last night. Some flashing for distraction. Lol

The girls' elegant but depraved plan did not work. The Astros pitcher, Cole, maintained his focus and went on to win the game.

They both had pretty nice racks, but I think the Houston girls can do better. This IS a challenge...
