Default 2 cases maybe in ct

We had some schools closed today because two kids came back from Mexico and were sick then i get home and here of 5-6 cases in the state.so what does this mean maybe its people panicing over common sickness or its the real thing.
Anyone know the how it spreads and how do you know you got it.
