Man do I LOVE a good Zombie show! Walking Dead is a great show, one of the best on T.V.

One VERY small point that irritated me- When Shane was cleaning his shotgun while talking about gigging frogs, did anybody else notice that he licked the wire brush he was using? Seriously, why didn't an editor catch that? Stupid.

Great Show

Default The liklihood....

...of a Zombie outbreak is as about as probable as me running through the streets naked and covered with green jello with a block of ice tied to my head for the cost of a brand new nickel. But me and the wife LOVE the show, and cant wait for Season 2 on Oct 16th.

I love it. I think it is great because on its own it might be a pretty solid drama, but when you add survival and flesh eating hell beasts it is wonderful.

I have watched every episode and am waiting for tonight for the season premier, but I have noticed some things about the show. In season one:

Why doesn't everybody have an M4 or a squad assault weapon. There are dead soldiers everywhere but nobody has picked up one? Why didn't they strip

Out of everyone in the group, nobody was a prepper? The group has to forage for food because nobody has any preps?

With all the Humvees around, nobody grabbed one? A 50 cal mounted on top and NOBODY grabbed one. They have a jeep (not real smart in a zombie apocalypse especially with a bikini top), an old pickup, a motorcycle and a motor home. That is a tough one, I just find it hard to believe no one would grab a Military Hummer as a SHTF ride.

I still love the show, but I wish the cast was more resourceful in their choices during the worst apocalypse ever to hit mankind. : )

If you look at the scenes most are shot out. The soldiers are probably dead because they ran out of ammo.

Realistically, the preppers probably hunkered down already. Also remember, preppers are actually only less than 1% of the population statistically... so statistically speaking, non-preppers are more likely to outnumber preppers in a scenario like this. Prepping doesn't ensure suruvival, just raised the percentage up a few notches. And who is going to want to watch a show of a survivor squirreled away in his bunker?

Do you know how much gas is needed for a Humvee??? LOL My friends Hummer gets 9 miles a gallon. I assume the military version would get less.

50 cals were probably shot dry also. If you notice the scene from the CDC, you will see that they were bunkered down with a perimeter. Once the ammo was out, there was no way to fend off the zombies.

Military Hummmers are diesel. They have to get more mileage than a motor home.
Would you not grab a few weapons even if spent?

True on the diesel. Forgot about that.

The only reasons I would grab up spent firearms is if A) everyone in the group did not have one already and B) if I had a BIL and just wanted to collect and store them for possible trade later on.

After what happened to rush limbaugh and hank williams jr. I have found other things to spend time on other than the NFL. Those racist pigs who run the nfl and its media outlets will give creedence to any lie or character assasination in order to protect market share. Im no longer participating in their evil.
Cardinals fan since mel gray and jim hart.

Sorry for the rant

Im there for the walking dead.

I'm enjoying the marathon right now in the "man cave" while cleaning guns. I'm prepared for almost everything, and society is still intact, so I'll probably order a pizza. Life is good...today.

Yep, I agree. In fact, one scene (before he crawled into the tank) showed 50 cal ammo still in a 50 cal gun...

the not picking anything has always bothered me in almost every zombie movie, if it has some ammo, take one and grab as much as you can carry, one automatic is better than none, even if it only has 300 rds, or whatever you grab. can't wait for the new season to start

I appreciate the series, but I do wish they'd fix a few things:

I can accept the dead walking, I'm cool with that premise, but a safety on a Glock and a belly hatch on an M1 doesn't cut it for realism.

Im ready and waiting for it to start. I did hear that they cut the budget to it this season. I hope it is still good.

The safety on the Glock was very bad. How could they not catch that, knowing what their audiance is going to be?

It could be a bit of humor, deliberately put in there. Like sending someone to look for some rotor wash in the Army.

However, the notion of an escape hatch on an mock up of an Abrams isn't right...not to mention the overhead view problem...but I don't want to tear up the show, the mistakes add to the charm.

Isn't there a sequence of a zombie in the background downing a Red Bull or something?
