The difference is, I'm not trying to force others to believe in my version.

This is what I'm attempting to convey. There is not much interest here to learn and understand other views on God, but how can you fully understand your own beliefs if you don't take the time to understand the rest of the world around you?

Believe me, I have spent many years trying to understand other people's religious beliefs and have become very comfortable with my own.

How does an agnostic determine that there is an "Infinite One"?

What is the starting point for this endeavor?

I don't know, I'm not an agnostic, but if you were to ask me, I would say look around you.

For me, it came from meditation and actively searching for "God". The consciousness answered and since then, I am in almost constant with it.

Plato's Apology might interest you concerning Socrates' daemon. Here's an article which discusses it:

Human beings are spiritual beings (even the ones who don't believe it). Whether anyone accepts it or not, humans serve a spirit of some sort. Some serve the Holy Spirit and others a different spirit (of which there are many).

It's in the human's nature to seek answers to so many hidden questions. Since we're all flawed, we're all going to come to incorrect conclusions from time to time. Since we're self-centered, egotistical, imperfect beings, we're going to think that OUR WAY is the only way or the best way. That's why we all need the Bible to fall back on when we start heading into "left field."

Some of us also like to debate (like Christ did with the Pharisees on so many occasions) so it's in our personal natures to gravitate towards controversial topics or issues. I sometimes fall into this category as it keeps my mind active and thinking and seeking.

Religion has been a "hot topic" since the time of Adam onward. The Israelites warred with people of other religions back in Old Testament and they even warred among themselves. It seems to be in our DNA. I happen to like putting on the armor and going to battle. I don't see Christianity as a pacifist religion (even if that's the direction it has gone in recent decades). I see it as the truth that should be told. I like the fighting spirit of our Christian Founding Fathers. They didn't stand for the antics of the King Georges of the world (including religious dictators) -- thank God.

A Christian should have an agenda, however. Seek the truth; pray for truth; live the truth (as best as we can); and preach the truth as written in God's Word, the Bible.
