All three are science fiction stories I checked out of the library at the times.

1) A man on a passenger plane flying over the Pacific is a trained fencer. The plane goes down and there are no firearms. He has to help people survive.

2) A wealthy man decides to build a large shelter when things start going bad in the world. He does. When it looks like things are at the worst, he goes down into the shelter with his beautiful secretary. But refuses entry of his handyman that helped build it. The handyman uses concrete blocks to seal the air intakes and walks away.

3) A youth or young man returns to a mountain country farm where the family experiences nuclear war. Seems like it was a pig farm, or had pigs on the cover. Perhaps a gate and some pigs. Do not remember much, other than the family was isolated and war occured.

Thanks.

The one about getting walled into the shelter sounds familiar but I cant help with names.

I can however offer these two places to find free digital books if you do come up with a name:

http://www.fullbooks.com/
http://www.gutenberg.org/

Thank you.

I had the Gutenberg link, but not the Full Books link. It may help.

Just my opinion.

#2 sounds like a modern spin on The Cask of Amontillado

Funny how we remember books from decades ago and then go looking.
