Bills filed to make you a criminal
Contact AZ Senator Ableser

On January 16th, AZ Senator Ableser (D-26) filed bills attacking law-abiding gun owners.

SB 1050 would outlaw the possession of any magazine or other “feeding device” that holds more than 10 rounds and make their possession a Class 4 Felony. With the millions of semi-automatic firearms with standard capacity (i.e., greater than 10 rounds) possessed by law-abiding Arizona gun owners, this would do nothing more than a create a new class of criminal whose only crime is the possession of a hunk of plastic and metal that politicians have deemed evil. We also question the rationale of anyone who believes that the construction of an inanimate object affects the behavior of the person possessing it.

What's going on with Arizona? I thought that they were one of the bastions of firearm ownership and rights (with open carry etc.)?

You might want to actually pay attention to 'transplants from Cali'.

I lived in Denver when a wave of Cali transplants moved in, over several years the "Californication" of Colorado had all sorts of negative impacts - but perhaps none more profound that the price of property up in the mountains.

But the politics changed also.

If that's happening now in Arizona, pay attention.

Same thing in the southeastern U.S. Lots of people move down from New York or Pennsylvania or wherever. Good people, but in my opinion, a little too quick to want their adopted state to do things more like their old state did them. If the old state had all the answers, why did you leave there? Sometimes you just have to go where the jobs are, I understand that, but I think you also need to appreciate the culture you've moved into before you start trying to change it.

I respectfully disagree. Politicians like this propose ludicrous gun control measures over and over again. Perhaps the first time they get shot down, they propose them again and maybe they get shot down the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th time. Finally, they propose them the for 50th time and this time it gets through depending on the current political environment. They keep up constant pressure which keeps proponents of the 2A on constant defense.

There should be repercussions for politicians using the tactic of repetition to get blatant unconstitutional bills on the floor. Since there isn't any logic, Arizona must vote him OUT.

Wow, so liberal idiots moving out of Cali are bringing the same misguided viewpoints that ruined the State they left? Isn't that the definition of a mindless virus?

This is why 2nd Amendment supporters need to sponsor anti-NFA legislation, constitutional carry laws, nullification of federal firearms regulations, etc. to put the antis on the defense, don't do it expecting to win, but do it to counter their ludicrous proposals and make them fight to maintain the status quo.

Must be them damn californians. Wow.

Has it occurred to anyone that people that leave california leave because of things they don't like. It's not like an evil spore that migrates and destroys.

DiFi got a large percentage of the vote, the people that wanted her in there got what they wanted, why would they leave. But keep in mind, 40% of the voters did not vote for her, that is a lot of people given the size and population of CA.

Now, about Arizona. I hope the best for you guys on this but I suspect this is just more dog and pony show.

What I do expect to see is obama pushing for the UN small arms treaty. That will be a devastating blow to the 2nd amendment IF it gets passed.

Obama did not want to use up all his favors on the EO's he just signed, nor does he want to use up all his favors on bills proposed.

Watch out for the Small arms treaty, keep your eye on the ball.

That's been my state of mind for awhile now. I'm tired of reading about the next barrage of gun control legislation only to breath a huge sigh of relief when it doesn't pass. I want to read about regaining rights, I want to see the anti's on the defense, I want us to become the waves beating down their seawall, not the other way around.
