7 days of food makes you a terrorist? Well it is enough to get you arrested.

Sen. Ran Paul here quoted a DOJ directive that lists criteria for being suspected as a terrorist.

Missing a finger may be enough to suspect you as a terrorist.

Having greater than 7 days of food stored may be enough to suspect you as a terrorist.

Does the left hand know what the right is doing? Doesn't the FEMA site suggest prepping for emergencies?

Imagine that... a large federal government inept and incompetent... now declaring preppers as possible terror suspects. Certainly that will only apply to Muslim people storing food... right?

You might be a terrorist if . . .

Looks like we covered this as far back as 2009. Now it's about to be law. Outstanding!

It's exactly this type of nonsense that has me locked onto Ron Paul. Not one other Republican would make any effort to roll back this BS.

Ok, I'm going to actually try and not hi-jack a thread - The above 2009 thread is closed. Here is a new one.

You might be a terrorist if . . . you support Ron Paul.

The bill being spoken about is -- 2012 defense authorization bill H.R. 1540 (Referred in Senate - RFS)

No, it is already law.

Rand Paul was using it to argue about yet another new law. [detaining US citizens without charging them.]

I am concerned that whoever wrote this law has some interesting things planned for those they consider "terrorists"?

If they attached bonuses to any reporting of your neighbors who could be practicing "suspiscious" behavior...and the country would change overnight.

We're on a timelimit folks - this is a wake-up call - hope you're preparing.

That is what I'm just finding out. Added links to above post. Looks like Rand Paul is trying to fix this in the current defense authorization bill. Looks like it will stay in.

FYI: When we get to the block house, my code name will be 3 long, 2 short, 1 long.

I don't stockpile a lot of food because we can't carry it. I don't intend on being in a barricade situation. When they finally **** everything up and everything goes sideways, I intend on being in the mountains somewhere eating wild game. The only thing I intend on "terrorizing" are deer, rabbits, squirrels and fish. They can have this place and hopefully all of the control freaks will kill each other off and I can enjoy the sunset of my life with some modicum of peace and quiet. So, if they take me, what are they going to waterboard me about? PETA complaints against me killing whitetail deer and cottontails? :::BLUB:BLUB:BLUB::: "Yeah, I know they were white, but..." :::BLUB:BLUB:BLUB:::

I mean, they would be hilarious if they were not so serious about this and powerful. Basically, the government is totally out of control.

Wow, where was Fox News with this kind of stuff back in 2001? Sitting on **** Cheney's lap, apparently.

This is disappointing, because McCain seemed to be a fairly rational type of person who didn't jump to crazy conclusions when he ran in 2008. Now he's co-sponsoring this POS?

The "Ready.gov" site says three days of food, gives recommendations, etc. So at the end of three days, Uncle Sam will miraculously be on site with delicious, hot meals, potable water, etc., etc.

This is horrifying. Horrifying!

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/1...n_1119473.html

It's a done deal.

And since they've decided that they should do this, I vote that McCain and Levin get detained immediately. They just sponsored a way to destroy the pact between the Constitution that defines this country and the people within it. They made a direct threat to liberty. That is textbook terrorism since every person that just did their bi-weekly grocery shopping is now a terror suspect and is now themselves in terror. GITMO the sponsors!

Obama has been regularly vilified, but here he is actually refusing the chance, given to him on a bipartisan silver platter, to get a blank check to basically suspend the Constitution and do whatever he wants - before the next election cycle! Carl Levin might be offering him the Antichrist Chair, but he's not accepting it.

Quote:
This unnecessary, untested, and legally controversial restriction of the President's authority to defend the Nation from terrorist threats would tie the hands of our intelligence and law enforcement professionals. Moreover, applying this military custody requirement to individuals inside the United States, as some Members of Congress have suggested is their intention, would raise serious and unsettled legal questions and would be inconsistent with the fundamental American principle that our military does not patrol our streets. We have spent ten years since September 11, 2001, breaking down the walls between intelligence, military, and law enforcement professionals; Congress should not now rebuild those walls and unnecessarily make the job of preventing terrorist attacks more difficult.

The only thing I'd freak out about regarding this is if it's NOT vetoed.
When it's vetoed, simply remember the dbags who voted for this, primary them and get them the hell out of office.

If it's NOT vetoed, well, then I'll be making some additonal purchases...
