One piece lower incorporating the stock means a collapsable or folding stock would be a major undertaking. Saiga 12 has more options.

Tromix is already working on an internal conversion kit for collapsible stocks. Even with the price of the stock and conversion kit, it will still be cheaper than a converted S12 with similar features.

The MKA1919 isnt for everyone I understand. Some people just cant get over the fact that it looks like an AR-15 but throws 12 gauge down range. I can understand your apprehensiveness. It was difficult for me to decide whether I want to sell my Converted S12 to buy this when it comes out. Here it is.

BTW - this 'device', is not based on internals of AR platform. Absolutely different mechanics.
I suspect it is plain auto-loading shotty, which cosmetically was altered to look alike AR.

I have a bit of a personal gripe about current gun manufacturing. Everything has to look like an AR-15 for some reason. It annoys me, what happened to actually building a brand new gun? In fact, that's a major reason why I don't buy gun magazines any more, "In this month's issue, ANOTHER AR-15 like looks and performs exactly like every other gun we've covered for the last three years!!!". Sorry if this is off topic, I just wish people would design totally new guns and see if they can really improve on what we have.

With the import Company I work for I had the opportunity to see these in person on a trip to an exporter in NZ, to say the least I wasn't impressed. I'll personally wait until there have been some long term durability tests done before I plunk down my hard earned FRN's on one.

The Saiga was designed to be used by Russian special ops and is proven to be a tough and reliable weapon, if I had to choose between that or a Saiga, it's the Saiga.

I recently got two of these in after finding a distributor, and i was a little disappointed at first when it would not cycle the cheap field loads. Out of the box, it cycles buckshot and 3" shells with 100% reliability, but for the cheap stuff to cycle through it, expect to shoot about 120 shells of field loads for break in. After that its all smiles. My customer that bought the second had the same experience with break-in. As a dealer, not much makes it into my personal collection, but this gun has. As soon as the drum magazine hits the market, I believe this will be the "Saiga Killer." It is lighter, requires no pistol grip conversion, functions perfect after twenty-dollars worth of break in, and costs much less than a converted Saiga.

Ok, need to buy one of these. Save it for a year or so and sell it for double the price. I see this blowing up all over the place.

Since it is imported by the same people who have imported the saiga 12. This could get awesome fast.

Tromix already has parts and SBS'd one after having it for 3 days.

There is serious talk about these things fly'n off the shelves.

Get one before they sky rocket in price like the saiga 12.

from what I am to undwestand it is based off of a winchester 1100 or something. Tromix has also said something about making a new lower for them out of aluminum. So you get the full on AR add ons.

There are also forends and such comming out for them.

Tromix hack job:

Hm...

12ga or 410ga?
Easy to find hi-cap mags or hard to find 5rd mags?
Proven platform or new design (similar to a platform that I think never was all that great)

It's no S12 killer, that's for sure.

...And for $800, I'd rather take kel-tek's new double-magazine bullpup pump, thank you.

Been hearing good things from his customers so far. Seems that everyone likes them a lot. Once the high cap magazines start being produced, I see them as taking off.

I got the opportunity to check one out when I was out visting my brother in CO. I really liked it. I still like my converted Saiga 12 more, but for $400 cheaper, Id rather have the MKA 1919 and buy another gun.

I believe that die hard Sagia fans and supporters are going to remain just that yet may indeed buy this for their collection or not. I think we cannot prematurely estimate what this gun will do because there are too many factors involved, we just have to wait until all the reviews start coming in and see how the number of sales do.

I personally love the Saiga and cannot wait to acquire one, this one may be a second option later on only after it has been properly tested and run through all its paces. I can see how the original poster is excited about this product because his brother is distributing it, yet I question how his excitement would be if his brother wasn't distributing it and someone else posted the news on this unit. Mind you, I am not questioning his integrity because he seems like a nice guy, but you always have to look at both sides while maintaining an unbiased view.

Will it kill Saiga sales? IMO I do not think so, I think Saiga fans will be true blue with Saiga, I just think as I stated before this is yet another option to play with and at the end of the day it will fall to user preference and choice.
