Default Hello from Alaska

Advertise Here

Wanted to say hello and introduce myself. Looked to this site for some good off the grid advice. I have been working on a wilderness get away (cabin) in the woods.

I wanted to see what advice others had for solving the problems of a simple life in the woods. Quite an interesting set of people here and I have enjoyed reading the posts for a few weeks now.

Alaskans are generally pretty good at preparing since we are up here in earthquake and volcano country, and living around creatures that will kill and eat you with little effort.

Thanks for the forum
Matt

You should if you like the outdoors I have not found a better place yet to live. You just have to deal with the dark and cold. Wheeeeee it is summer now and soon to be daylight 20 hours a day (we only have two season summer and winter since spring and fall last about 2 days each). There is lots of country to get lost and dead in up here so I am sure that if you are on this site you will have a good chance at making a good Alaskan. I have started the Alaskans for global warming alternative to greenpeace. I am hoping that instead of snowbirding in retierment to Hawaii like most Alaskans I'll be growing bannanas in my front yard here in Alaska.
