That's a great green house for the price, I was tricked into helping build one. Awesome collection. Can't wait to see the trees blossom.

Great pic thread Jodier. And I have thought of also getting a Harborfreight greenhouse but they seem a little small for the price. I would have to take it down in mid October when the snow usually begins to get deep up on the mtn retreat.

But maybe someday I will get one or at least a very strong hand made greenhouse whenever I finally permanently move up there.

And I also rated this thread five stars. Not sure why All of my 11 pic threads have been down rated but here is my latest and Maybe last one.
It shows what I did last summer even until the end of Oct. 2013 & I will probably add more new pics later or at least by mid May > https://www.survivalistboards.com/sho...d.php?t=343804

First off, what a incredible thread you have. I have no clue as to how I missed it. Some great photo opportunities.

On the HF greenhouses, the 6x8 is a decent size, you could easily take the panels off without a ladder. But.....a hand built greenhouse would be far superior. Do you have a sawmill?

Thanks for looking at that mega pic thread. Many seem to have missed it, don't like it or me, or just don't care. Maybe they think it will be too much like most of my other "boring" pic threads? Although some, even I, think it is very unique, some rare humor even from me and it should have something almost everyone would like such as who doesn't like animals as seen in the 2nd post ? > https://www.survivalistboards.com/sho...d.php?t=343804

And I do not have a sawmill but I do have 4 chainsaws although 2 are the best. Some on the net anyway, actually Only on the net, think that I should not even touch a chainsaw again. But people would have to see my public visitors profile or ask in a pm for me to be able to answer about that.

And I could make a chainsaw sawmill. Although I have Plenty of all sizes of dead trees on and near my mtn land. From 2 foot to 2 inch trees which I can use for firewood or building, from large logs to the smallest of poles. I like to create things without using a sawmill or even nice lumber.

And maybe I will obtain some Harborfreight or other clear panels to build my own DIY hand built greenhouse. I do plan to use at least one room in the new partially underground cabin as a greenhouse. It will likely also be a kitchen - living area. I Must get much or Maybe even all of that new cabin built by October 2014.

Any other questions from anyone just ask especially in this thread if those questions are directed to me. > https://www.survivalistboards.com/sho...d.php?t=343804

I will also be looking back on this good thread of yours Jodier to hopefully see more pics etc. of your homestead. I was about 25 before I became interested in survival / survivalism, even the Rocky Mountains and 30 before I "finally" bought my mtn land and began to build, yes, even a "crude" BOL - survival retreat - someday hopefully a permanent homestead.
So you Jodier are waaay ahead of most by beginning so young.

While, I do not have a picture or video, you'll have to take my word.

I have had a moment of pure joy, a very simple thing.......Watching two runner ducks chase a laser pointer.

So simple, but so incredibly hilarious.

Maybe I'm just going crazy.

Got to work on the duck coop some this week.

Got the door done, this is the first time I successfully put a door on , the first time.

This it the framework for the hinged roof

My customized strap hinges, I realized only when I opened the package that they weren't going to work as they were.

I put the hardware cloth on and trimmed it in.

Moving on.....The potatoes are really getting big. These pics are a few days old, but now I almost have the buckets full of dirt.

What rhymes with "Baby Orange?"

Rabbits, and Chickens, and Ducks, Oh My!!!

FWIW I've been enjoying your thread, I simply haven't had much to say in addition to working some crazy hours of late. Your pics give me some good ideas although sadly I'm not allowed to have ducks or chickens in the yard due to city ordinances. Since you're so far south of me I have to adapt your ideas to my situation-like another poster, a greenhouse only does me so much good so a permanent structure isn't really what I need although it works well for you. Please don't get discouraged! Some of us are watching without speaking.

Sorry about no updates, I've taken on a seasonal job on the weekends, and I'm getting back to school.

I have concluded that I have a hen and a drake. I think that they are inseparable.

Spigots! Wine making stores are a great place to find these, however I would still like to find a place online where I could buy a quantity.

The duck coop is finished!

\
Volunteer garlic, I guess I missed a few cloves.

My blackberries are pathetic, for a few years now I was misinformed, and told that I was supposed to cut the blackberries flush with the ground every year. Thanks to this video which was posted in another thread, I know better.

TexasPrepper2's channel is loaded with goodies.

Does anyone know why the leaves are black?

The ducks love their new home!

I designed the back of the coop with a sliding door, so I can just sweep the old bedding out.

The roof, note the paracord retention braces.

The ducks prefer the tops of the lettuce.

Codie is very interested in the ducks.

The pecan tree is leafing out.

The only thing in the garden right now is onions, I thought I knew what I was doing when I started the seedlings, but I'm still going to have to go to our local nursery tomorrow.

Points to the first person to name this plant. Hint: One of it's names might be a sweet drink.
