Any owners of the gun that have any thoughts on it? I am looking to get it and have heard nothing but great things from talking heads on some videos, but I would love to hear from a few actual owners. How is it as a CCW and what holster would you use? Any ammo preferances the gun has, I know my full size M&P 9 loves any and all ammo. Thanks in advance!
Anyone know of any torture tests that have been done on the shield? cant seem to find any. I would rather trust a gun to my wifes life after it has been abused and still functions.
my fns9 has been in water, dirt, 10k rounds. never fails
kicked around between this (Shield 9) and the XDs 9... this won on economy and general reviews of the trigger. Picked one up at a gun show for $385. 200+ rounds and very pleased. Smooth trigger, nice big sights and sits well in my hand. Would buy again.
I had a Shield, never fired it and sold it to a friend. A forum that I frequent is split between having issues and running flawless. I sold the Shield to purchase a third generation S&W model 3914. It's single stack, and carries nicely. Holds a 8 round mag and has a de-cocker. The third generation Smiths were at the top of the came and they don't get much better. If you look around, nice used ones can be had for less than $400.
My girlfriend just got one and loves it. I myself shot it and enjoyed it very much: it was easy to fire, easy to hold, and had no issues. I have a Ruger LCP for daily carry since it is smaller, but I would purchase a M&P if I needed a conceal weapon.
Love my new shield....great quality for the price of 389. What a great little pistol, accurate and has eaten every load 115,124,147 non and +p rounds that I've tried so far.
Update.........I got one got for my wife in June. Passed recall test.....digested several varieties of ammo, including premium 147 gr hollow points. No issues so far.
She carries it a little moe than the 6904 (which was never). Gotta work on better habits.
Awesome, sounds like she found a perfect fit and is comfortable with it.
