I wear a mask at work, dealing with patients and colleagues face to face, for their protection and mine. I have worn a mask for decades during invasive procedures, for patients' protection. I wear (a different type of) mask when out and about outside work, for others' protection; since I could become an asymptomatic transmitter and as that adjective defines, I wouldn't know it.

So if you think I'm a jackoff for wearing a mask when shopping after work, well - think whatever you like. Good luck finding someone who doesn't wear a mask to treat you if you need care.

Mos stores where i am at are requiring mask to shop. Not a Big deal, especially for older shoppers. It is also the law in my state.

I think the worst of covid 19 is over. However getting back to some semblance normal will very difficult for a lot of people. And the politics are never going to stop.

Is there an alternate universe liberals live on where their warped sense of reality makes any sense?

Are they all victims of Monarch brainwashing to make them subservient to the evil of the democratic socialist party of America?

In what universe does Nancy Pelosi give one hope for the future?

I was blown away at how many votes Biden got in NEBRASKA! As red as it gets. I swear 30% of humans are incapable of cognitive thinking.

I think about that percentage of people are just contrarians. They don't have any views of their own, so - they just pick the opposite view and say they are trying to help/participate. I think they learned as small children this was a way to get attention from coddling parents.

A while back I read an article that was saying the most difficult part about developing a vaccine for the coronavirus is that it never actually goes inside the body. It is a surface infection (sinus surfaces and lung surfaces). In order for a vaccine to work effectively the virus needs to actually penetrate the body.

I am reading some good results from the use of MS immunosuppressant medications. The idea they were working on is that what is killing people is the immune system's over reaction to the infection in the lungs causing the body to flood them and kill the person. The immunosuppressant is reducing that reaction and allowing time for the immune system to react properly and kill the virus off without drowning the person.

There is a big difference between receiving treatment for a medical condition and going shopping.

As to the OP, I do think the worst over for the virus. I think the DEM political servants are going to try to make the misery last as long as possible and blame it on the GOP in attempts to win elections come November. I think it will backfire, since many states are already opening up without a huge jump in new confirmed cases. In fact new confirmed cases are dropping relatively quickly even with a rapid increase in the number of tests being done.

Should that happen I'm sure there will continue to be quite a bit of panic buying. I'm not exactly sure what the items of choice will be other than guns and ammo. Maybe the usual survival food sources? I think the even more serious issue would be extreme stock market volatility. People will be dumping stocks like a sailor spilling wind in a squall. That of course will lead to a whole lot more problems perpetuating the issue. Add in that and the possibility of the Chinese virus resurfacing and mass shutdowns/lock downs could easily put us in conditions not seen since the height of the great depression. If that occurs, it would sure to bring about some serious civil unrest but most likely some serious wars where unstable nations look at nuclear options as a last resort. Doomsday scenario, yes but I think there is some decent probability given the state of things at the moment.

It's not half begun in my opinion. Whether there is a second wave of infections is yet to be seen, but for certain, a depression is coming and there's no doubt of it. In the last depression, no one had any money but they had abilities to grow their own food and farms that hired whole families to work the farm...not anything but scrapping by but they didn't starve. Who knows how to grow food anymore? Yes, many preppers do but the majority does not.

Regardless of who is elected I think we are far from seeing the worst in both the virus and the economy.

If you recall, the dust bowl happened during the Great Depression. People left their farms in droves and headed to California to live in tar-paper shacks. The Grapes of Wrath was a novel about one family.

Yes. It will make the last run look anemic. Even unfavorable polls for Trump by October will set it off.

This is the question no one seems to have asked: What if another really bad virus pops up and we must fight the two at the same time.

RE the Presidential election: We're going to get an old, senile, sexual deviant. Regardless of who wins. THIS is the best the two major political parties have to offer.

A pox on both their houses.

Also, this fall I expect Corona V. 2 to show up and kill millions, just as the second wave of the 1918 Flu was the one that staggered the world. I'm prepping with that in mind. Others should too, I think.

I believe that it was terribly convenient for the People's Republic of China to suddenly have a fast-spreading virus that swept the protesters in Hong Kong off the streets and stopped the threat of their protests spreading to the mainland. I also believe that the Democrats have a vested interest in ensuring that our economy does not recover before the November election and who follow Vladimir Lenin's advice "the worse, the better".

So, if the Dems can't keep the shutdown going I wouldn't be the least surprised if some other "virus" doesn't come along to make sure the news is bad for a Trump election. These Socialists will do virtually anything to get back into power and stay there permanently. I am still of the opinion, as well, that regardless of the outcome of the election there is every likelihood that Trump will be the last Republican President. The crazies will finally win and then all of us will have some hard choices to make.

There's a rumor that Covid-19 is flaring up again in Wuhan and they're starting to lock down the city again.
