Doubt there will be any here due to all the flooding. For any breed of fish. There used to be a walleye tournament every spring at Canton. Don't know if they still have it.

back when I was a kid, like 40 years ago. a local small lake in Wisconsin would have a fishing contest. I don't remember the name of the lake but my great aunt and uncle lived on it.i think they called it a pond. it was prob less than 200 acres.

me and my gparents would go every year. I was in charge of catching mud turtles for turtle races. they would paint numbers on the turtle with nail polish, set them down in a circle and whoever put in a dollar and got the winning turtles number, won a six pack of blue ribbon beer.

they had prizes for the biggest fish of every species. I think I won a couple times in the bluegill category cuz I knew where they hung out. local busineeses would donate reels and rods and stuff like that for prizes.

once I got big enuf to work on the farm back home I didn't get to go anymore. it was a great time for everyone. that was back in the late 70's.

there are a lot of catfish contests in Oklahoma but im not familiar with them anymore
