First off please stop calling them silencers, they do not silence they suppress. The anti's use "silencer" to get people to think the shooter can sneak in and shoot someone like a ninja and never be heard. I am not beating you up, just wanting to stop the misuse of the terms like "automatic" for semi-auto and "assault rifle".

How many IL citizens will fork out $1,000 for a suppressor? I would rather put our effort into getting open carry and the "Holy Grail", Constitutional carry. I will of course support this effort.

The silencer vs suppressor debate is almost as bad as the 9mm vs 45. Legally (from ATF dealings) they are refereed to as silencers, hence my habit of calling them that. Either way. I could care less what it is called. I have worked with guys in SF, MARSOC, FBI SRT, and more, and 'can' gets tossed in there every now and then.

As for support, if you have ever had a chance to shoot with one, I couldn't see how anyone wouldn't want to support it. It makes shooting 1,000 times more enjoyably. Just thought I would throw it on here for anyone that hadn't seen it.

The terms "silencer" and "supressor" are interchangeable.

"Way back in 1902, a guy named Hiram Percy Maxim invented this device and called it the Maxim Silencer. His invention didn't completely silence a gunshot, but he still called it a silencer.
So technically speaking, one is more correct using the word silencer. However, the industry latched onto the term "suppressor" for many years. Maybe because the term was more descriptive and probably more politically correct. In the past couple of years, you may have noticed more use of the term "silencer" by companies in the business. From here on out, I'll use the terms silencer and suppressor interchangeably as both are correct."
