When people post a preference be it semi-auto vs. revolver or make vs. make or model vs corresponding models, seldom does anyone make the case as to why. I mostly assume it is because that is the one they own.
People are more clear when they do not like a particular gun. They have had a problem and this gives us all a heads up.
I would like to see post below with objective reasons why you prefer one or more guns.
I have had many handguns(browning high power, colt trooper colt python 4"&6" barrel, S&W 58,.38 det sp and even S&Wmodel29 8&3/8 barrel all at the same time. Best shooting of all of the above-Colt trooper4" barrel. Fired about 1000 rounds at the range at Ft Benning and the gun was awesome. Had to sell all of the above when I got married.
One reason for ‘not making a case for...” is if you say “i love xxxx because”.. then 25 ‘xperts’ in everything from basket weaving to turtle catching will explain in nauseating detail why they think your choice is crap...no one will ever convince me on a forum such as this that my gun is the ‘wrong’ gun so anyone that doesnt have time to waste isnt going to post such an open ended item.,
Watch this:..I love Glocks, Mossberg shotguns and Remington rifles..
40 plus years of carrying guns, in a variety of circumstances has taught me that what works for me, works for me and I don't feel the need to justify all my rationale but I share with you these considerations.
All handguns are compromises. I would rather have a HiPoint than a club, but if circumstances allowed, I would upgrade.
What I carry typically is based on what I am doing and my perceived threat level. I don't live in an area where I have to worry too much about being a victim in my day to day. That said, I take my dog for a walk and typically in daylight I will just throw my LCP II in .22 in my pocket. If I go into town, or into the city, I will carry something a little more substantial. In addition to my .22.
We called it defense in depth, in a previous life.
If I go into the woods, a .357 mag works well.
I am a 1911 guy. Same trigger, made to carry cocked and locked, best combat platform. But I'm 64 and that's what I trained with.
