I couldn't hit anything with my first AR until I collapsed the stock to the first step out from fully collapsed. I was trying to shoot it like a deer rifle and it didn't work, I found out that if I shortened it up I could get a better cheek weld even though my right elbow was sticking out.

Maybe its me...but I study my profession on my own time, when not clocked in. Always updating my dome piece.

Looks like some people touch their rifles a few times a year, when its part of their gig.

Put a scope on your gun.. what is the next thing you do, maybe look through the scope? I would never take a scoped gun out unless it was at least grossly adjusted in.

Or when he finally got the Eotech working, he mysteriously got shot in the shoulder.

Both the right wing and left worship those guys, they just do it in different circumstances.

Either way, that cop is a ****ing moron and shouldnít be allowed to own a weapon as long as he wears the piece of tin on his chest.

The fact that no one corrected him is telling.

The first thing that came to my mind was Ralphie's mother saying "You'll shoot your eye out!"

Hopefully by now he knows and got it straightened out...stuff like that is easy to fix. Small town PD who knows? they may have snagged him from behind a desk because they didn't have enough people. Pictures are a moment in time, no way to know what lead up to the moment or what transpired afterwards.

You're exactly right. Having been lucky enough to work with quite a few Tier 1 folks, even they can do something really stupid once in a while. Brain farts happen to all of us.

Organizations recruit from the human race. The less training provided, or interest in particular skills that organization emphasizes, means higher incidents of moronic behavior. Anyone that thinks an average 11B makes less stupid mistakes than an average cop, is highly misinformed. The majority of both groups do remarkably well given their training.

Those who like to make blanket statements based on a few individuals actions, are the real morons.

You think if they did a gear check on each other before heading out someone would have caught that...just saying.
