At least the ones in my area.
It sure took them a long time. The cases had been packed for months since they said they were going to stop all handgun and 'military' ammo.

Federal .223 or Winchester 5.56 25 cents a round.

I picked up JHP 240 gr. .44 Mag for $30 for 50. (White box) and Federal for $35.
100 round boxes of Federal 9mm RN $15.

They had clearance tags in my area too. 9mm was already gone. Still had lots of 40 and some 45. I assume 22 is not part of the reductions. Clerk said they got there last shipment.

I might peek to see if there's any good defensive ammo, but even those prices are crazy high for me. I load .44 mag's for $46. Per thousand.

Does anyone have a list of cartridges that Walmart is trying to dump vs cartridges they intend to keep?

More specific.....Are any of the following cartridges on the hit list or the keep list?......

22lr
380 cap
38spl
357mag
7.62x39mm
308/ 7.62x51mm

Just curious as I hate Walmart, ( They are no better than the Nazis) , have not been in one in over 25 years, and do not intend to walk into one ever again.

However.........7.62x51mm at 25 cents per round might change my mind...provided the jackles haven't already cleaned them out.

Edit: I read the first post here, and if he is correct, then all the cartridges I listed above are on the hit list......Can anyone confirm this?

They are on clearance because they are getting rid of them, ever since the CEO went turncoat and got in bed with the anti-gunners. Honestly, I don't shop at WalMart since then anymore and could care less if they had them 50 percent off.

He claims he's pro gun but will get rid of pistol and any round used in evil assault rifles. He thinks it won't affect his sales, he's wrong and I'm not going to help him prove he's right. Have fun catering to the hunters that buy maybe 5 boxes a year, hell I go through that in a week.

I cannot remember the last time I've been to wallyworld and have no plans on going to one even if they were giving ammo away for free...

My Walmart also has ammo marked down but so far not many takers. The part I don’t like is you have to have your drivers license scanned by the clerk. They say it’s to get your birthdate but I don’t know,I’m 77 nd do not need my license to show my age. I’m going back today and will have my driver license no. covered up. All they need is my birthdate, nothing else.

After the gun show Saturday I stopped at a walmart on the way home just to the facilities. Looked at the locked ammo case to see what the current state of affairs was. Everything on your list with a FMJ was yellow tagged.

The funny thing was the 40 round box of Federal 7.62X51 150 grain FMJ was yellow tagged the 20 round box of the same stuff wasn't.

They don't have to scan it, only type in your birthdate. The problem is the person behind the counter (lazy?). I know because I asked the manager about it. My complaint was if they scan it, they get too much information.

I buy 22lr and .410 on occasion (nothing else). It's a bit cheaper than elsewhere.

I used to buy .22 there before they tried to have my rights taken away just to support them/ keeping ammo.

I think they forgot/didn't know or care that lots of us who didn't buy our ammo there care.

I hadn't set foot in one since, and won't for ammo unless it's actually low enough to actually cost them.

My friend at my local Walmart told me that they will be keeping all of the rimfire, shotgun and hunting cartridges.

There was a guy there last night that wanted to argue with the clerk because they had not marked down any of the .308 or 7.62x51. They also seem to be keeping 7.62x54R. They had .224 Valkyrie marked down to $9.

I was tempted to buy some of the .380 because it was priced the same as the 9mm. The Critical Defense and other 'combat' rounds were only marked down a little but my friend says they will go down more pretty soon.

Most of the ammo is already below their cost but they want the case space for Black Friday (now Black Thursday, really.)

On another note, one LGS in the area is clearing out Bulldog AR cases made for Colt, with Colt labeling, for $13. They must have bought a bunch of them because they are flying off the rack and they keep restocking them. They are really nice with the thicker padding, heavier zippers and both a large pocket and the magazine pouches as well.

They have always had the best $$ on Winchester PDX1 shotgun rounds. That is IF you can find the ONLY person with a key to the ammo case.

Caught a good deal on Remington 9mm luger last week at Field & Stream, buy 1 and get the 2nd half off. But another dead store, no shoppers, no sales help... them you have to chase down.

I would buy up several of those bulldog cases. I have a small one I use for ar pistols and it’s nice. Killer deal there for sure!

I don’t shop much at Walmart anymore other than cheap shot shells and clays. I may have to stop in at a couple local ones to see what they have marked down. If anything is left that is. Wouldn’t mind snatching some .40 defense rounds if they are cheap enough. Need some more 380 as well.

Actually, I buy my Federal and/or Winchester shotgun ammo for Trap and Skeet at Walmart, I save about 5 bucks per 100 shells as opposed to buying elsewhere. I don't buy any rifle or pistol ammo at Walmart.

I guess I'm lucky. Biggest town in our county of 20,000 is the county seat, pop. 1700. But we've got not one but TWO hardware stores that have firearm sections. To be honest, I've never looked at their ammo inventory, since I load my own centerfires, and I'm still whittling away at the .22 stock that I laid in when Bubba was president.
