Default Good Things about the united States of America

Advertise Here

With all the gloom and doom and **** that's around us, sometimes it's hard to remember what a great country the United States of America is. Lately, I've been reminded about a lot of good things while spending time with my parents. My parents have been watching various history things on TV. I think on the History Channel, Smithsonian, etc. On one [local] channel, they have stuff about little Minnesota towns. It's nice to remember where our ancestors were and what they did to build the United States of America, and how beautiful it still is.

Sooooooo... I'm starting this thread for us to remember and name good things about the U.S.A./U.S.A. achievements. One thing or achievement per post, with or without a short explanation. With or without a link(s)

United States of America achievement:

July 20, 1969. Apollo 11. First men on the moon Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. Michael Collins remained in lunar orbit.

The creation of Yellowstone National Park in 1872. Passed by congress and signed by President Ulysses Grant. The first national park in the US and the world, setting the stage for our vast national park system plus national parks around the world.

Our unsurpassed (anywhere in the world) Constitution which defines our freedoms. Outstanding examples: Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, the right to keep and bear arms, protection from unlawful searches and a big one, the creation of the Electoral College.

If we can keep them.

Pretty much every modern convenience we have today......

You can thank the Americans for.....doesn't matter where they're made, it's where they were invented and developed

The race to the moon and the ensuing space flights has brought a lot of technology to us to use

China and Russia both are closed societies and don't share high technology. They haven't brought back moon rocks, they don't have rovers on Mars

Would computers and cell phones be around today had China or Russia invented the technology first?

The surprising capacity (of so many people) to see through all the political lies and turmoil and elect a president that might save our country.

The downside is so many people that spout the lies.

OK,,, as a world traveler, never let it be said that I don't fully know or appreciate the good and greatness that we have here in the USA. That's why it's worth protecting, at all costs!

So, I'd like to include 2 things that are near and dear to my heart. Gulfstream aircraft, made in Savannah, Georgia (like God intended!) and Space X, out of Hawthorne, California, McGregor, Texas and the Cape in Florida.

The G700 aircraft, capable of US to Australia nonstop.

There are a lot of "firsts" here that are not self evident. That engine pictured above runs on Methane (natural gas) and it's capable of producing the lift, speed, re-usability and burn time necessary for heavy lift to Mars. Nothing else exists that can do this. We tend to think of rocket engines as similar, but that's just not the case.

Our Founders in their wisdom gave us the 2nd A, which is systematically being dismembered. Regardless, over 100 million Americans still hold approximately 400 million arms.

There are still people who understand the true purpose of the 2nd. I believe this is the only reason we can be having this CIA, FBI, NSA, DHS supervised discussion.

The national parks are amazing. I enjoy them every time I get the chance.

For me, I still live in a safe city where crime is minimal and I can walk down the street without fear. Although, I no longer walk the river park trails due to the drug addicts and homeless population. Not even with my very large male German Shepherd or with a pistol on board. While most sane people would never mess with my very large male German Shepherd, and my pistol could protect us both. I don’t want to take the chance having to use it because it would make me a felon.

Just survived two power, water, gas outages and The longest only lasted 5 days. But, my house didn’t burn down, I have resources because I’m a prepper and I didn’t get evacuated although there were mandatory evacuations just on the East side of the river about 2 miles away.

Merica.

I live in a lovely, very high priced community. Just don’t venture too far off the path.

I am each day thankful to have been born into a country God has abundantly blessed. I'm thankful that I was able to serve this wonderful nation that has given me everything. After spending time in many other nations seeing the good and the bad with them, this nation with it's Constitution affords We The People things not possible in any other nation on the planet.

The USA was a great country. Now the USA doesn’t actually exist anymore.

Great job in defecating all over this man's post that had some potential to try and see the good things we have.

This kept me entertained for decades... the best bang for your buck in the history of the USA. (other than my Daisy BB gun)

Only in America:

The Frisbee was invented in 1957 by a Californian UFO enthusiast named Walter Frederick. But he didn’t call it a Frisbee. The Wham-O company bought his idea for a toy saucer, and later named it after a popular pie restaurant in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

The underwhelming response/participation that this thread has received says a lot about the current state of American society.

USA..
Where the term "cow boy" went from a somewhat derogatory word to "cowboy" and something that dreams, fantasies, legends and movies are made of.

Maybe you should cut and run, hightail it to another country, rather than deal with it bro.
