Default sources for cowboy style leather belt/holster

Advertise Here

Local guntrader had an ad for a heritage rr,both cylinders, and a nice leather cowboy style belt holster for 200$.
Decription said the bullet loops on the belt were made for .22 and .22m.
Don't really need anther heritage, but the belt interested me.He never replied, guess it got sold.

Anyway, now its stuck in my head I'd like to get the belt combo in case I ever want to play cowboys and indians again.
I'll do a search this weekend, just asking ahead of time who ya'll use for a source.
Any tips or hint what I need to look for to narrow it down?
Have about 7 types of .22 revolvers,so it can be generic.

I bought a Triple K holster and belt for my 44 about 30 years ago, it's still holding up very well

Cabelas sells it too but more options on their website

TripleK leather is crap really, single ply construction so their holsters don't hold their shape very well. They use cheap cuts of leather but its....adaquate. El Paso Saddlery makes some real nice stuff. Mernickle leather is VERY nice but its expensive. Custom stuff, really. Wild West Mercantile sells clothing for Cowboy Action Shooters and also stocks a line of decent leather. That ought to get you started.

Make your own, its not that hard. After my Jet fell out of an Uncle Mike's the second time I wanted a flapped holster, no one make one for a K frame. I designed and made this fully lined one. Its doubled layered so there is no metal in contact with the pistol. Tandy leather has patterns for cowboy stuff.

I use a Triple K Confederate officer's belt, with the Hickok Holster for my reproduction'51 Navy. I use the same belt and a custom holster made for me by a friend for my '58 Remington.

I have bought two holsters by DeSantis. Both are leather and both have a good fit and comfort level. I wish I had the skill to make my own leather goods.
