This is a new product, I think it hit the stores about three weeks ago beginning of November. What makes this different to most other commercial drones that are somewhat usable: it is small, weight is exactly 249 grams. It's footprint is about same as a modern smartphone. Mavic Mini 249 g. Ultralight. 30-min Max. Flight Time. 4 km. HD Video Transmission. Vision Sensor + GPS Precise Hover. 3-Axis Gimbal 2.7K Camera. Simplified Recording & Editing. Two models, 4km and 2.5km range. Their transmitters are different, so the actual range depends on what type of drone is sold at your dealer. Drones that weight 250 grams or more are subject to more regulations, owners need to register themselves, drones, they may need pilot's licenses etc depending on where they live & use the drone. Essentially drones under 250 grams are considered as toys, so much less hassle should one want to play with one sometimes but still own a proper drone. Local laws and common sense still apply. DJI does marketing well, so they have supplied pretty much everyone and their dog in youtube with Mavic Fly More Combo package (comes with extra batteries, case etc). As a result there is a lot of videos around. Price seems pretty universal at this point, being 399 for drone and 499 for fly more combo (looks like it's same in $ and €). What else... it is not as full featured as other DJI drones are. It is a beginner drone after all. Personally I purchased one online today, as one local shop had "30% off almost everything" and these were among the discounted items. So it was about 279€, not bad. I hope they do not cancel my order tomorrow ![]() |
