God wouldn't have created them if he didn't love them.

I don't know if animals go to heaven, but He certainly has a plan for them. We just have to trust in His judgement, despite our hopes.

That said, if animals go to Heaven, I certainly would want to see, pet, and play with my Irish Setter and Labrador Retriever again.

I sure hope so. There's some dogs I'd like to visit with again.

All animals have souls and are created by God. I believe God invites their souls into Heaven when they die. Many of our beloved pets will meet us there. And since Heaven is a perfect place to spend eternity of love and happiness there's no doubt that our pets and other animals spirits will be there.

I can't fathom God creating all these wonderful creatures and denying them entry to Heaven when they provide so much joy to us on earth. And where else would they go? Hell is the only "other" option, and I cannot fathom our animals going to hell. Why would God do that to His innocent creations?

Makes no sense for them to be anywhere other than Heaven.
Very reassuring words...... Thanks LC

Well we know there will be horses------Revelation 19:11 "I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean." Pets? I just don't know. I would like to think so but have nothing to back it up other than the verses I posted. I do not believe they possess a spirit as men. I do believe Jesus died for mankind only. But every creature knows Him and awaits His return, for me that says something good.... Romans 8: 19 "For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that[h] the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God."

Along the same line, let's say a man and wife have cats and dogs for pets, and are Christians. When the rapture occurs what will happen to their pets?

I sure hope I am right and my dogs will be there. When my first wife died, my dog was right there with me when I couldn't be around anyone or listen to all their plattitudes and "she's in a better place" speeches, or asking me how I was doing when I was barely holding it together.

your thought, will we live in heaven with our pets or is salvation limited to just us humans?
Depends on how hard you drop kick them.

Animals don’t have rational souls so it is impossible for them to go to heaven.
They also can not freely choose to have faith in Christ.

So no I don’t believe they go to heaven.

Humans have free will and intellect and are the master. Animals don't have free will, or intellect, and are servants.

Animals are "hard wired" by God to believe.

Just like animals aren't "rational" but know predators, prey, correct foods from poisons, have fear, happiness, hunger, don't often get lost, and so forth. They have extremely fine-tuned innate abilities we call "instincts."

And don't you think the Creator would insert some some "belief in Him" with those instincts?

He gave Humans free will, not animals.

I figure everyone has seen this before, but Rod Serling created a Twilight Zone episode about an old man and a dog dying and living again. I think it speaks Gods heart! Called The Hunt:

And we did have the "Fall of Man" but not the "Fall of Animals". We really have no idea to their natural relationship to the creator (God) is. We have no record of their separation to God like we have with man.

As far as we know, they have a perfect relationship with God as it was intended from the beginning.

God's creatures as much as we are. Certainly all dogs go to heaven. Cats? Not so sure. Some cats are just pure evil. And no they can't be blamed for how they treat birds and mice... their mothers have taught them to play with their food.

But he created mice! I hate mice! But then it gives my little kitty something to kill, she loves killing mice.

Six Pack, either they will get raptured with us, or those left behind will rescue and rehome them. I believe they get raptured.

Except maybe "my" possum.

I just had to bury my in-laws dog today. My mother in-law called my wife and told her the bad news. I went ahead and took off to their house and dug a nice deep hole for her. I just remembered this thread when my four year old little boy asks me “why is your t-shirt so wet Daddy”? I then had to explain to him that it was sweat because I had to dig a hole to bury his grandparents dog. He didn’t say anything for a moment...and then he said “do dogs go to heaven when they die”? As I’m peeling the sweat soaked shirt off of my back...I respond “I sure hope so Buddy” . Before I can get another word out he says “Oh I bet they do!” He made me smile...

So anyway... the little guy reminded me of this topic so I felt the need to ramble a bit. Hopefully our loved pets will be reunited with their loving owners in the end.

He is Lord of all creation! And, of course, creation includes dogs. People who have had near death experiences have claimed to see their dogs and horses.

Why would God, who is love, not preserve dogs, who do a much better job of loving than humans do?
