Default can the space station leave a contrail?

Advertise Here

Saw it pass over this morning in SWFL,NE to SW at 5:21 for a couple minutes.
Kinda cool since I was able to see spaceX iaunch last month taking them up.
Went inside to get ready for work, walked back out about 10 minutes later.

perfect contrail from it,but earth rotated a little so it moved, other planes overhead not leaving one.

Is it possible, its just in orbit,so not doing anything in space.Could it disturb space dust or something..I'm not crazy?

It's in orbit, not in out atmosphere

There is no moisture to condense there

Maybe they fired a thruster to reposition the station?

What you seen was the Neowise Comet.

"The comet will remain visible with binoculars in the Northern Hemisphere until July 23, according to NASA. Some viewers have been able to see it with the naked eye under the right conditions."

"The comet’s closest approach to Earth will occur on July 22 at a distance of 64 million miles, the space agency said. It’s not expected to return for nearly 7,000 years."

Here's a pic of the comet and the ISS. The dotted line is the ISS.

I thought this one was especially beautiful.

The comet's tail would be pointing away from the sun (up).

I'm pretty sure my son's kite left a chemtrail one time. He denies it but he's a sneaky little brat.

The space station can, indeed, leave a contrail while it passes ...

but only the last time.

I'm guessing that a plane flew overhead during the 10 minutes you were inside.
