I am looking for some information regarding a vacuum sealer. Can someone help?? We are looking at the Weston Pro 2100 or 2300, What is the difference or is there something that would be better for us? We will be processing about 10 deer or so a year and wild hog. Thanks

Sam's has one. Not sure which one.

You can find a lot of vacuum sealers at garage sales for $5 to $10 -- if you have time to wait for one.

Hopefully the next post will be more helpful.

Time to repeal the 17th.

I have the Foodsaver and love it! Costco sells it. I know that the earlier models didn't have the 'accessory' feature which is a long flexible tube with attachment that fits over the lid of a Mason jar and removes the air. I use it alot with my dehydration food preps.

Make sure you get one with the hose for the mason jars, I love that feature for storing dry goods in mason jars, I have a foodsaver, got it at Target for like $60 and it has been great.

FoodSaver Food Sealer Vacuum - V2240BS, don't think they make this model anymore

Maybe look for a deal on ebay

Default Food saver

I have 2 of the white ones I use them to pack nato rounds I leave a little air in the bag so as not to have the tips pierce the bags works great!
I noticed 2 differant type bags I prefer the rival for some reason they seem slightly more plyerble and have the channeling on 2 sides iF I am correct
I seal every thing in these machines even my cigars!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for my long absence from the board. Summer, if you haven't bought one yet, I have the PRO2300 on a special through Sunday night (5/13). You can find it here -

This is one of the best suction style vacuum sealers out there but for the volume you are doing, it might be a good idea to move up to a chamber sealer of some type. A good intro level machine is the VacMaster VP112 Chamber Vacuum Sealer. With a chamber sealer, you don't have to worry about the juice coming out of the bag, in fact you can seal liquids in it if you want. The only limitation to this machine is that you can't seal up the heavy canning retort pouches. For that you would have to move up to the next level of machine, but only a few people have the canning expertise to can with retorts.
If you want to take a look at the VP112 you can see it here -
