Gelindo. No, this brand is not in the same league as Leatherman, but it has held up well for me. I just bought a second one to throw in the GHB.

Amazon has it for under $10

There is a minimum set of features I want in a multi-tool that can be difficult to find on less expensive models.

1) Pliers with replaceable cutters
2) Decent size locking clip point blade
3) Good locking wood saw
4) Locking file/metal saw
5) Can opener
6) Bottle opener

The least expensive Leatherman version I have found is the Rebar at $70. I have three of them and if I am going a bit light, I take one on me. The other two are in modular kits. I use a Leatherman Surge most of the time in the field, but it is big and heavy and well over $100.

I prefer to decide what I need for an item to do and then look for the least expensive quality version of whatever that version is. I have never had much luck putting price first and then filling a need based on it rather than the other way around.

Just my opinion.

Might try one of the bids on Ebay for a supertool 300.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Leatherman-...0AAOSwMnZcW4MI

or buy it now at $69 with leather sheath and free shipping. Not bad price for a lot of capability.

A good tool is like pennies a day to own over your life time - well worth the money. I have several of the cheap tools for caches. Given several away to help get folks started that had nothing.

I like my Wave. I need to make a new case to hold a few extra items, like a ferro rod, 4" crescent wrench, small pry bar, carbide jaw needle driver, Ti scissors ...

Dental floss wrapped in notched cut in the extra bit holders. Teflon tape under the electrical tape wrapped over the dental floss. Big needle in the elastic. Inside the white tube - 4,5,6 mm Apex hex bits - fits my bike and leg. Modified hex bit holder to work in the Wave bit holder.

This is my favorite. I also have a wave which is great but the Surge has just a bit more size which I like.

I went for the Leatherman REV for daily pocket carry. My old Supertool goes with me outdoors. I have a MUT on my BUG gear.

Never seen a spot of rust on any of them (except where I got weld splatter on the Supertool and cleaned it with a wire wheel. Cross-contamination. A good brushing with a stainless wheel cured it.)

Leatherman sidekick. Spring loaded and a pocket clip. Think I spent around $30 years back. Dunno what they go for now.

Yeah...the rust comment is bizarre. Leathermen are 100% stainless steel. The only thing capable of rusting on them is the removable screwdriver bits on the models that have them.

Start hitting the flea markets if your on a tight budget.

I regularly find Leathermans and Gerber multitools for 5-15 bucks. I've bought enough to be able to dump the really cheap ones I collected as my backup's at a yard sale.

The Victronix Trekker is a great knife if you don't need the pliers, well made and sharp as all hell!

Good luck!

Forged, that look like gerber 600 as someone else said. I have a few of those never have an issue and love the single hand opening pliers. keep one in my car and on on me EDC. and Ive given away several as gifts thanks to uncle same issuing me so many. not sure on price but cant be expensive

https://www.amazon.com/Gerber-MP600-...10&s=hi&sr=1-1

I did pick up a new leatherman MUT on ebay a for about $80(retail is like 160). Specifically for the carbon scraper, and I have used it too many times to count. also has a torx bit that has fit everything)that requires a torx bit) ive needed it for on any of my firearms

Not sure if the OP is serious with the under 50 remark. This bad boy was probably 20 or 30 at most.

I guess everything is bigger in Russia.
That green multitool is on the large side.

Earlier this year, I became a huge Leatherman Fan boy. I got a Rev (discontinued) from a Secret Santa with the NY gun boys. Got a mechanic job and started using it more. Now I have half a dozen, with 2 unopened Revs. I have the LM bit kit and bit extender to give me more options.

I bought a used Surge (new $120) for around $65. barely used. Look for deals, otherwise Ill scoop em up!

Wave + is another good option with a good variety, esp if you have glasses. They are $100 new but could be had around 50-60.

Ive heard great things about the $40 Ozark Trail multitool (Wave+ knock off).

I EDC a WAVE but I have a Gerber and a Craftsman around somewhere. Lost probably 5-6 in the fires but had no idea what they cost until this thread.

My wife brings them home free if something is wrong like a missing screw or damaged packaging. The store gets reimbursed and I get free stuff, an arrangement that I am very satisfied with. She brought home a leaf blower yesterday, I haven't checked it out yet.

Mind sharing where you get them at that price? A quick search on ebay is showing them around $70-80
