United States is on the precipice of civil unrest.

From what I've been seeing/reading on the television/internet, (I don't watch television, just use it as a means to obtain information), to what I've been hearing being discussed among peers/coworkers, it looks to me that emotions are being pushed to the breaking point. People are willing to resort to violence to get their point across. Just read this article and thought I'd share this.

http://monetarywatch.com/2017/01/united-states-precipice-widespread-civil-unrest/

This is one of the many reasons why we've been preparing. Stay safe everyone.

When I look into the crowds protesting, I see snowflakes, cretins, and morons who are NOT at work. When the working people take to the streets and start making sense and articulating true complaints, I will worry. So far, I see mostly millennium snowflakes skipping class, paid by Soros and the leftists or perhaps ordered to protest by their social justice warrior professors. These people have nonsensical signs, wear vagina hats/costumes, and talk like they just got out of Cheech and Chong's van. I call them the "expendables."

Don't really see any of that where I am at although Birmingham had some trouble. This snowflake pattern has been growing for a long time, all the way back to LBJ, Lyndon Baines Johnson who probably was instrumental in getting Kennedy shot.
The Great Society, War on Poverty, etc. This was when the left really began to be empowered and it just grew from there to what we have now.
Jr and Sr High Schools were integrated by busing students round, Affirmative action was employed, Welfare increased, Schools began to quit teaching Government and Civics (I learned civics in the 9th grade). Don't believe it is taught now in a lot of schools, at least not like I got it. Its obvious a lot of people even on this forum don't understand civics.

There's a whole lot more stuff we could add to the above list. But no matter. We will have some civil unrest, but i don't believe the left and the snowflakes that are protesting have the stomach for a civil war. Some of the professional protesters, ie Fergeson, Baltimore and other places, Black Lives Matter, etc and those funded by George Soros can and I think will cause a lot of trouble in the coming months and I think we will also see some riots and destruction. But i hope as another poster stated that Trump lets em have it. If they riot and destroy property and hurt people then the police and other LEO should do whatever is necessary to restore order. That will seem like a civil war to some.

* I posted this video on another thread as well, it is a very real reminder of how fragile peace is and how the police can quickly become overwhelmed in these situations.
I forgot how crazy this was !

"When you see Koreans on roof tops, defending liquor stores with Remingtons, that's game on."

"The police response, was NO response"

Silly, brainwashed Los Angeles anchor women brings up whether or not the shop owners guns are registered,
as armed gangs roamed the streets, killing people and the damned city is being looted and burned ! :headshake:

I'll never understand liberal logic. Korean business owners/employees are protecting the property that they've worked so hard to build and the stupid female reporter is more worried about whether their guns are registered. SMH!

It's that the ideological war between left and right has come out into the open so much more. It's beginning to manifest itself in more acts of violence.

Just be aware of who you are around and what they are doing. When I say that I mean watch everyone, watch their hands, watch for behavioral changes, watch for out of season heavy clothing, watch for concealed/disguised faces, be aware of your own identifiers (political clothing/stickers), be aware of neighborhood demographics, carry concealed, train as much as you can and most importantly play the "what if" game.

What if someone attacks now? What if they have a rifle, a knife a bomb? What if the 3 people at another table walk over and accuse you of being a racist Trump supporter?

I play that game at work a lot.

Unrest? What a laugh.

Highly doubtful.

Sure, the news outlets, TV or internet, want you to worry and be alarmed. But it's not truth, it's news.

Protesting takes a lot of energy. Rioting takes a lot more energy. Fighting takes the most.

These people protest because they don't have the fortitude to do MORE.

They're not fighters, they're complainers. Compare them to someone that picks up a gun and fights. Do they hate you LESS? Do they feel LESS impassioned? Are they LESS confused? They simply don't have the necessary substance. No threat.

The worst thing we can do is start paying attention to the news, again.

I have to agree with you, I don't think the protesters will lead this nation to civil unrest. I think we have to be more worried about coordinated attacks in different cities that will bring panic to the large cities. I think the national guard being brought in after a series of attacks is more realistic than the left starting unrest in this nation.

for the past 8 years now, these classes of people have gotten everything they wanted, including being excused for their bad behavior so that they could be home in time to post it all as bragging rights on youtube..

during this time, people like me have held down 2 jobs, done all we could to shelter/salvage our financial portfolio from the 2008 mess and all the while the leadership in the white house was clearly biased against us and during this time the only protestors I noticed in my town were NOT from my side of the fence.

other than buying a rifle that I never felt i should need to own, and ammo inventory that woulda never made sense to my father's generation, I kept my face to the wind and faithfully pulled my own wagon.

and when it came time to vote... I stood up...so now, there is a different face in the whitehouse..good or bad...depending on point of view.

but my point is me and many like me did it peacefully, constitutionally, legally.

and they still want to keep slapping us on the cheek...dude...heads up... we're about out of cheeks to turn...as my dad used to say... "don't make me get up out of this chair"

Things will cool down once the new season of Dancing with the Stars begins.
This. The root of my question about all of this for several years now is "How much do people, to their core, actually care?"

If the average Joe is truly holding in rage, truly willing to commit violence to stand for what they believe, then we're all in for a rough patch. But if the average Joe is only TOLD that they're ****ed, but only really cares about the Kardashians and when the next iPhone comes out, then life shall continue just as it has for all of our lives. Apathy may actually save the day.

They will just do what they have been doing and burn their own cities down. It's a shame. But this radical liberalism is a disease IMO. When you depend on the government for EVERYTHING. Including your next meal you are already too far gone to be converted to a hard working middle class American. You have given your ability to care for yourself to bureaucrats and globalist. At that point, when you are concerned about feeding your children, You would feel all is lost. And do just about anything to maintain the socialist status quo. It is their own fault in the end.

These protests are different than anything we've had before. Ever since the election, they have been increasing in intensity and numbers. Not decreasing, as would be expected. This is an especially ominous development.

This isn't OWS in 2011. Or the Seattle WTO protests in 1999. The critical difference with what we are seeing now, is the powerful support behind them.

This support comes from those individuals and forces that see Trump's election as a direct, existential threat to their interests. The George Soros's, Bill Gates, Globalists, One-World types are determined to de-legitimize Trump in any way and means possible.

Toss in a rabidly anti-Trump MSM, producing an endless barrage of anti-Trump propaganda, enraging the SJWs even more, and we now have a very explosive situation in this country.

In my area it's business as usual with people going to work, kids going to their leftist indoctrination camps and the usual rabble rousers trying to get attention.

However, the butt-hurt leftist media does its best to air each and every anti-Trump protest, pink hat rally, frightened moslem, la raza "let-us-in" march to show how morally superior they are and how deplorable we are.

The first story out of the box is usually the noisy handful of "protesters" in the capitol rotunda shouting their nonsense slogans with the conveniently on hand democrat politician quite anxious to get on camera to extol his virtue.

It's the media's job (in their minds) to turn nothing-burgers into end-of-the-world headlines.

People need to stop listening to them.

==========

As far as real riots in the cities, it depends on the city, the mayor and police chief how they will be handled. Salt Lake City has progtards in both positions, so I expect little smackdown. Meh, I don't live there so **** 'em. Eventually the morons who do will wake up.

I think the title is adequate as is. As to folks being out of control, I lost track of the number of people on this board, before the election, bringing out the old chestnut of 'the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants', and speaking of stocking up on guns and ammo in the event Hillary won. Self described conservatives, all; no liberals, no Libertarians.

I had no trouble considering that a threat if THEY didn't get things their way.

The two main sides here appear to be spoiling for a fight. Trouble is, people who start fights seldom think they can lose, and never realistically assess what the costs of a war will be, especially IF they lose. Then when the bill comes due, it's often higher than they can pay...

I think it was worse in the 60's, this has a different feel to it, it's not as ugly as what was going on back then. The black panthers are back well kind of, not sure they ever left, but the truly bad actors or their equivalent are yet to be seen.

When groups like the SLA weather underground etc. start popping up then it's getting bad. We aren't there yet, but over time the potential is there to spawn some truly terrifying and radicalized groups.

https://www.ksl.com/?sid=43138806&nid=148&title=chaffetz-faces-tough-crowd-at-utah-town-hall-meeting

Jason Chaffetz (might be) one of the good guys. Co-sponsored bill to get rid of Dept. of Ed. I'll bet 50 bucks that the vermin at this semi-controlled riot are NEA pukes.

“So, President Trump,” Chaffetz began, a minute or two into the meeting, before being immediately drowned out by loud boos.

“If you want me to answer the question, please give me more than five seconds to answer it, OK?” Chaffetz asked a few minutes later after several people heckled him, claiming he hadn’t adequately answered an audience member’s question about investigating Trump.

A few people even went up to the stage to point their fingers at Chaffetz and demand that he spend more time with specific questions. The congressman tried his best to defuse the tension.

“Let’s try not to yell and scream at each other,” he said.
These people don't even know what they are bitching about. Just there to lay on the hate. Jason Chaffetz won 73% to 26% in last year's election.

====================================================
edit:

Chaffetz felt the leftist heat/hate and proceeded to rag on Kellyanne Conway and call for an investigation.

The Republican congressman said the White House must refer the matter to the Office of Government Ethics for review. He said he and Democratic Oversight Leader Elijah Cummings :mad: are writing a letter to the office and he will also write to President Donald Trump about the matter.
If Chaffetz starts with the BS, he will hear from the rest of us, not just his haters.

I recall how, during the height of the Tea Party, members would pack town hall meetings with their Congresspeople and Senators and spend much of the time just screaming at them. To the point that such meetings became rare.

What is reprehensible from one group is just as reprehensible from another.

The left engages in outlandish behaviors, beating people with MAGA hats, which is juvenile to say the least, engaging in protests that become violent or disruptive like blocking traffic.

The right for the most part has become stoic, patiently biding time watching and waiting for signs that this left side temper tantrum is coming to an end.

So far the right is winning (again) as they appear to be the most adult like in this matter.

The left are the ones engaging in the orgy of violence and destruction. Even the right-wing idiots like the Westboro crowd don't do much more than shout stupidity at people. The reason, they're not being told that they're doing anything wrong. In fact, these rioters and violent protesters are being applauded and rewarded for what they're doing. They are brainwashed by the media and the talking heads into believing that they're soldiers for some noble cause. They are puppets for a modern day khmer rouge, and most don't even realize it.

Are we on the precipice of civil unrest? I'd say more like upheaval or war than unrest. And it's more like an event horizon than a precipice. A precipice doesn't SUCK.

I'm not going to get into the "he said she said" part of this thread, so feel free to flame me because I won't respond to it. :D:

My thoughts are this: It doesn't take many people to create an atmosphere of civil unrest and anarchy.

If you have two or three leaders in each major city, who have 20-40 "true believer" types, that's all it takes for them to whip another 10,000 into a frenzy. Then, you've got the 20 or so "true believers" in a crowd of 10,000, and they're the ones doing the actual damage. It airs on TV and everybody in that major city start to feel uneasy.

Do this a few times and you've created an air of anarchy. It's enough for people to fear, and that's the point. They've accomplished their goal.
