Just like the title says...

Lady went through metal detector, was searched and arrested for carrying pepper.

I guess I would have got the death penalty...I carry 4 oz pepper.

Australia is number 1 in the world for rape... Australian women are an easy target for rapists, they know they have been made defenseless by their government...

Sweden ranks in at number 2 and New Zealand ranks in at number 3...

http://www.civitas.org.uk/content/fi...ecdjan2012.pdf

Australia also ranks above the US in many other crimes too...

They rank above the US in assault, burglary and vehicle theft too...

I'd just carry a boomerang everywhere. Those are still legal right?

How....un-ab-original.

Because there is more reporting of crime when you have a better run police force.

Democratic republic of Congo they are raping whole villages. But you think Australia has physically more rape?

And apparently it also depends what list you use. Here we are at No 8 and you at No 3.

Probably because the women have been made defenceless by your government.

Sounds like a reasonable thing that could happen in a country that took guns away from it's citizens. Seems like they could a seen into the future a little.

Guess a great number of Aussie's wanted to feel good about doing something.

It will stay that way as long as it's people allow it to.

I hear alarm bells of BS when Sweden is ranked at 6, and India is 96.

http://uk.businessinsider.com/the-10...8-1/?r=AU&IR=T

Australia is the world's safest country for a woman, according to analysis by consultancy New World Wealth in its 2018 Global Wealth Migration Review.

The 10 safest countries for women in 2017 were:

1 Australia
2 Malta
3 Iceland
4 New Zealand
5 Canada
6 Poland
7 Monaco
8 Israel
9 USA
10 South Korea
The rankings are based on the percentage of each country's female population that has been a victim of a serious crimes over the past year.

goes to show statistics are a load of crap. vary definitions of aggravated assault reports, versus indecent assault, attempted rape, rape etc you get different rankings. I have no idea whether there are more rapes here, personally I doubt it. I think most the 1st world would be fairly standard for that crime. That said pepper spray being illegal is ridiculous. For the record its legal on our west coast.

An assault on our right to self-protection
Quote:
Prohibited self-defence items include pepper sprays, mace, clubs and personal Tasers. In some States carrying a pocketknife is *illegal and even wearing a bulletproof vest is banned.

The Prime Minister is protected by armed guards at taxpayers’ expense, and the wealthy can hire armed security guards, but the safety of everyone else *relies on the assumption that the police can keep us safe. And as the saying goes, when seconds count the police are minutes away.

What this means is that self-defence is not a realistic option for most people, and especially not for the majority of women, elderly and disabled. We have become a nation of defenceless victims.

Fixed that for you.

Only a combined 1/3 of rapes, attempted rapes, sexual assaults are ever reported to authorities.

Same type of government and media people who would've arrested her/reported on a similar story in the U.S. would be also screaming about how they "support women's rights" and you know, "#MeToo"! But when it comes to the 2nd Amendment, the biggest and most important practical vehicle for women's defense against rapists and murderers? We hear crickets or worse yet, out right opposition from these SJW's... The hypocrisy (purposeful in most cases, I think) is frightening and needs to be recognized as a professional political trick. Fake outrages, fake news.

Impossible, they have "reasonable" gun control laws. Obviously this is paradise on Earth, to say less is simply a counter-revolutionary thought crime.

By the way. I bet you can't take mace in to an American court room either. Which really should be the kind of details a court room reported should be expected to know.

Shoot, these sissified countries barely have a police force. I can hardly watch police videos from these countries because they are not armed sufficiently enough to deal with an armed bad guy with a machete much less a firearm of any kind. The UK doesn't or barely has any personal property rights and the idea of self-defense is non-existent. The ugly side of gun confiscation the fake news will never report on is the high number of home invasions/burglaries in these draconian countries.

Courts

In the United States, the courts are a separate and co-equal branch of government. As such the presiding judge determines the rules of his court. This is a dictatorship of sorts, their court, their rules.

Typically judges are personally armed, as are their courtroom bailiffs.

The great majority of courts in the United States are protected by metal/bomb detectors and armed security/sheriff deputies, marshalls, etc.

Although on duty law enforcement officers are permitted to carry guns inside the courts, officers having personal business before the court, like a divorce/civil case must check and secure their weapons in the lockers provided.

Like at an airport or when visiting a jail or prison, the state requires that only their agents are armed. Most people consider this to be reasonable.

On your own

Out in the real world, you are responsible for your own safety and security. This is true everywhere, even in places that legally prohibit self-defense or ban the tools to effectively defend yourself. Police are not required to protect you as an individual and can not be held criminally or civilly liable if you come to harm.

The natural right to arms and self defense against animals and other humans has been with us since caveman times. It is only with the advent of "civilized" government that we see institutions limiting or banning weapons and sanctioning those who desire to have the means and ability to effectively defend themselves. The primary driver for this behavior is to reserve the possession of arms and their use to those in power and to prevent the loss of their power at the hands of the common people.

Less Free

It is a sad commentary that primitive humans, wearing bear skins and being armed with flint/obsidian weapons, enjoyed greater liberties than the average Australian does today.

You are either a citizen or a slave, pity should be reserved for those who truly believe they are free, but are in fact little more than subjects or slaves.

The most sacred human right is the right to life and without the means or the right to preserve and protect life, you are a slave.

Free Speech is allowed as long as you only say what the government allows. Make no mistake, many Americans, especially democrats and other Socialists look upon this will envy.

Never give up your guns. Obviously, Britain needs another revolution, but I doubt anyone is left with the will to resist, let alone sufficient arms to do so. Typically 20% of the population would need to rebel, i order to prevail or around 10 million people, never going to happen.

The total of the armed forces is around 250,000 including reserves. A sophisticated foreign force could easily match this number, but no domestic force could hope to defeat the armed forces in a conventional sense.

Sad to watch their willing and continued decline from soft tyranny to a true hard tyranny.

I am pretty sure my life expectancy is going to beat that of a primitive man.

So I would have more right to life. Rather than less.
