I would like to issue a challenge to those who own full "suits" of tactical clothing. How about your wear it (on your day off) for a full 24 hours. Be sure to go out of the house to the local mall.

If you have a CCW permit, then by all means carry as well. I would like to see some stories about comments and stares you receive. This is not making fun of anyone, I just think it would be something funny to share. I will do it myself one day but I am still lacking

elbow and knee pads
ballistic goggles and helmet
ballistic plates

Be sure to wear your LBE if possible (don't put mags in those pouches, we want to actually hear the reactions).

Anyone up for this? Take a photo before or after going out!

Btw this is just for fun, don't get arrested.

If it incites fear among the idiots it will be deemed as suspicious and the authorities will berate and harass you.DISORDERLY CONDUCT if you refuse to take it off after a public complaint.

Reminds me of something stupid i did 1 halloween night back when i was young and dumb. A friend and I put on full camo ,including face paint (not a big deal for halloween) and we also strapped on full sized survival knives (mine was a buck master) and proceeded to go bar hopping. Suprisingly we did not get arrested or kicked out for lugging those hunks of steel around, we did get a lot of funny looks though. It was one of those nights you look back on and just sigh WHEEEW!

You can join the military and get stationed at Korea during an exercise. You would even get to MOPP up and hold a gun

No thanks...I spent 3 years of my life in my tacticool gear in 120 + degree temperatures....
I have it, but I don't, and am not going to wear it when STHF.

The most I wear currently are my 5.11 pants and boots.

the only problem whit that for me is my air soft it the m-16, i got the black flash suppressor, the gun is real weight n looks. even the ejection port opens, the sights r fully adjustable. so trouble would only be following me around with that. only if i had one of those red rubber guns.

I believe in being prepared, but I don't see any reason to draw unwanted/unneeded attention to myself.

You don't have to be a "mall ninja" to be prepared in public.

I wear tac gear all the time.
WV Tactical gear includes bib overalls and t-shirt, work boots and a straw or camo hat.
A flannel shirt is worn over the bibs to conceal a shoulder rig or a pocket pistol is carried. Extra tactical gear is carried in the rear pocket in a Beech-Nut pouch.

The brownshirts will be looking for folks that like to play dress-up.

Exactly. I once had my brother tape leaves all over me so I looked like a walking bush then he put a witches hat on and big work gloves we made it about 800ft down the street before a cop told us "You guys are scaring people" so we had to take it off. My god the people these days are so panicky and sensitive. Damn cell phones have given people easy access to call and complain about any little thing they don't like.

I wear kaki BDU's all the time. When I hike or train outdoors I often have Woodland cammo or Tiger stripe's on..with a Tee shirt and gymshoes.

I just got back from checking my traps and looking for hogs, and I was dressed for battle. Carhartt jacket, Wrangler jeans, one of daily work shirts, one of my standard work caps, and Muck rubber boots (normally, it would be Redwing work boots, but it has been raining for three days). I closely resembled this photo, but with a cap instead of my hat.

I can be ready for battle and still blend in at any WalMart in east Texas.

Cigarettes do keep you from killing stupid people.
I have somehow learned to ignore them but I keep some cigars around just in case.

I am part time nurse and part time paramedic. I wear 5.11 gear (shirts, pants, boots) on the job. I like the fact that there are pockets everywhere for stowing supplies. They are bomb proof and just plain work.

I dont wear it for a fashon statement, I wear it for useablity. I dont wake up in the morning thinking "this could be the day". I dont have knee pads or elbow pads of a helmet or body armor.

For me its about functionality and job usefullness. I could careless about tacticool.

ETA: I have a GHB in the car and I CCW daily, so its there if I should need it.
