There is a sale until Sunday at all workscene stores and also they're online store,
https://www.workscene.com.au/tactical.html
They don't have everything from 5.11 but the backpacks and clothing end up pretty cheap.
The discount code is 511DAY

You guys impressed with 5.11 gear???
I am issued the stuff, and everyone in our work place, about 300, are not overly impressed at all.
The boots are in the just ok range, we are now issued magnums instead.
The trousers, (we have 3 styles to choose from) all suffer the same problems, they are exceptionally hot, the crotch hangs low and generally pretty uncomfortable on a 12 hour shift.
The shirts, again too hot, they do not breath well, and the sweat gathers inside , pooling at your waisr. The shirts we are issued are vented at the back wonder how bad they would be if they wernt.
Not suitable for tropical climates.
They look great, very tactical, just dont perform well in the work place.
The tactical pro pants are the ones we are issued.

I only have a few items but i am very happy with what i have, the pants i have are the stryke model and they Are the coolest pants i have ever owned (temperature wise) and they dont ride low for me, also the mobility is excellent and they are much more durable than any other "workwear" on the market and i have tried pretty much everything out there over the years, i cant really comment on the shirts as i dont have any.
The bags are excellent, i have a rush 12 and a moab 10 and the quality is as good as any you will get.
I know 5.11 pants arent really marketed as tradesman type clothing but they are better than anything that is, and being an electrician its quite common to spend a lot of time in roofspaces at over 50 degrees
Other than that i only have a hat which is really comfortable, but i guess most hats are as long as they fit properly.

I live in Darwin ,its nearly always hot. NT Police and another govt agency (where I work) are issued the stuff.
Uniform looks tactic - cool, but dosen't really perform very well. We have a choice of 4 different styles of trousers, 1 pair of dress trousers are compulsary, then 3 different tactical ones to choose from. I have the most practical ones for my job, and they are ok, they do last a long time, but in the heat, im not talking 50 deg in a roof for a couple of hours, im talking 30-35 C for 12 hour shifts with 80% humidity, they suck!

Unless you have lived here its hard to describe, but 30 here is a lot different to 30 in Sydney or Melbourne. I do 7 to 7 shifts, day and night, and in the build up, Oct to Dec its 30 at 6am and its still 30 at 5 am and the humidity is worse. The material the trousers are made from is a polyester mix with god knows what, and they are mongrels for your crotch.
Our old uniform were trousers similar to the Armys summer dress pants, and although they looked like crap, they were pretty comfortable, same with the shirts. The 511 shirts that we are issued with are sooo hot.
I feel sorry for the cops here, theirs are pretty much the same, but Dark Blue, almost black. At least ours are green pants, kahki shirt.

Aside from the pocket fabric being too thin and my keys regularly punching holes in the pockets yes, I am pretty happy with their pants.
