I've wound up with a bunch of these, anything you can do with them?

They don't fit in about anything else, other than hearing aids.
At least not that I know of.

If they are not past the use by date & you have a bunch.
Sell on eBay.

Targets!

Aim small, miss small

I have no earthly idea, Ebay does sound like a good option though!

They might work in your laser chamber adaptor for bore sighting a weapon. Stacked on top of each other they become a larger voltage battery. Replacement for AAA, use in a perimeter security device, power source for a booby trap type alarm.

Find some old person on a fixed income that can use them. Old soldiers home, VA, regular old folks home.

This is a great answer.

What ever you do, do NOT coat them in cat food and feed them to strays....
That's just mean.

I read somewhere that if you solder a BUNCH of them together in a box that you can run a PRIUS with them! The grass-eaters might try this! Get back to us on how that works out for ya!

If they're the zinc-air type, they're pretty much useless for anything else. Donate them. Their shelf life leaves a lot to be desired anyway. Don't ask me how I know.

If you try the only thing that will burst into flame would be the battery itself. They cannot supply the current to make enough heat to be a reliable ignition source.

They do last on the shelf as long as the seal is not broken to allow air to get in the cell. The newer 315s last much longer in use than they did a few years ago. I get 5 to 7 days of use instead of the 3 I used to.

I've got a whole case of German-made "Power One" brand 312s that you should meet. Bought 'em in July 2015, thinking I'd have a long term supply if TSHTF.

At the beginning of 2018 I started getting one dud out of a six-pack, then it was 2, now it's sometimes 3. I'm still plugging away, using up the good ones, throwing away the dead ones.

I've got some of the same 312s that show an expiration date over 5 years ago (moral of that story, check and rotate your stock). Haven't had a dud yet.

That appears to be contradictory.

Thanks I kept wondering if mine were acting up and not dinging to let me know they were low on battery. Yes, it seems to be a week on the 312 I use.

i guess you could use the flaming battery to start the fire. The package says shorting the battery may result bursting into flame.

Being a tightwad I put a piece of scotch tape on mine when they are not in use. Went from about a week to double or triple that. Disclaimer: The wife says that I conveniently forget to put them in.

My wife often asks me if I have my hearing aids on.
I ask her why she is asking.
She shouts at me, SO I DON'T HAVE TO SHOUT AT YOU.

Why didn't I think of that? Mine often isn't needed for days at a time. Only put it in when I go out to the store or the doctor.

Yup. Buy fewer at at time, buy more frequently, and rotate. Outsmarted myself when I bought so many at once. Next buy will be soon, relatively speaking. I'm down to just three dozen or so.
