Lets say you have to start all over building your 3-4 shtf guns and your budget is $1000-$1500 just the guns no ammo or magiznes.
What firearms would you buy and in what order?

I came across some extra cash so Im think of buying strictly 3-4 guns that would be used in a shtf event.

Not in any order,
Ruger 10/22: $250-280
Glock 19: $500 ish
AR Ruger AR556 $550 ish, or a Wyndham maybe $750 your preference.

I don't really see being able to get 4 good ones at $1,500 limit.

With $1500, I would start with...

A CZ-75B SA in 9mm...$675.
Ruger 10/22 - $170
Spend the rest on magazines, holster, ammunition, spare parts and other preps because if I had to start over with firearms,i’d probably have to start over with everything.

...and spending all of the $1500 on guns? You’re going to need ammo, i’m sure

S&W 6906 9mm : $300
Bushmaster Dissapator AR15 (old model from 80's) :$400
Winchester Model 70 in 30-06 with 3x9 scope:$400
Still got money for mags and ammo!
These are all guns I've picked up in the last 7 weeks.

A .38 revolver in any make for - $300.
A Heritage 22lr roughly - $130.
A Marlin model 60 22lr rifle - $150.
An HR Protector shotgun - $180.
Total so far - $760 plus tax.

Then save up for America's rifle - AR15. Seems like Academy has one on sale every other week too.

Glock 19 with trigger undercut- 600
Springfield ar- 800
100 on a decent holster for the g19 and sling for the rifle.

Id end up dropping another grand on a 1-6 scope for the rifle though.

Great thread.

Bushmaster AR-15 oracle $450
S&Wc 9MM $450 (easier to conceal and fits full size 9mm mags)
Marlin .22 60 $150
Tax and things would eat up the rest.

I'd spend $375-$400 per on a G27 and a G23.
3rd gen, preferably with night sights.

I'd probably get an AK, might squeeze in a FAL. (Picked up a Mixmaster recently for $700)

Spend the little remaining on a "whatever brand" .22 rifle.
You can come across a decent shooter $50-$100.

That would get me by although I'd like a .22 pistol also.
I've bought a couple high standards in the last 6 months under $200.

As the saying goes I'd rather hunt with a fighting gun than fight with a hunting gun.

Either a 308 AR-10 or 308 scout rifle
18”-23” barrel Remington 870 - my preference being a 3.5” supermag, 23” barrel with 3 shot extension tube
Glock 9mm or 40cal. My preference being a 40 with a Lone Wolf conversion barrel to 9mm mags for both calibers.
A 22LR - either 10/22 or savage bolt action

Then if money allows a 22 conversion kit for the Glock.

AR15 Pistol with 9" .300BO upper + 11" 5.56 upper = $700
Glock 22 Pistol (PTI) - $280
Remington 783 w/ Scope (either .308 or .30-06) = $260
Remington 870 (pawn shop) = $140
Ruger LCP .380 = $150

= $1530

A little over but this is what I would go with. If I can find an LCP in 9mm for about the same price I might go with that instead.

These questions are always tough to answer, and are useful because of that.

My SHTF priorities are:
Self defense pistol, Used Police Sig 229 in 40 cal ($500).
Semi auto carbine, suited for both defense and Big game, Ruger mini-30 in 7.62 x 39 ($700).
Small game pistol, Browning Buckmark in 22 LR ($300).

When you save up more cash:
Bolt action rifle in long range cartridge, Ruger 77 in 270 Win.
Predator rifle, bolt action or single shot in 22-250.
Remington 870 or Browning Silver Hunter in 20 ga.

If it were me and that is all the money I had I would buy a Sig 938 SAS because it is my favorite carry gun, I would then buy a couple of magazines, a TLR 6, and a Desantis holster.

Next I would save my money and build an Aero Precision 300 Blackout 8" M4E1 upper pistol with a Geisselle trigger.

Poof money is gone.

I'd save and as budget permitted I get a used Aimpoint Pro, then a PVS-14, helmet mount, then a suppressor, then a ATPIAL laser pointer/IR illuminator, last a Surefire Vampire.

That to me is worth WAY more than a 4 or even way more guns whether pistols or AR15s.

Later, I might get a 5.56 upper, but it money is that tight why bother?
