have processed many a firearm, never got a usable print.
I hear that there are new DNA methods since I retired in 2011 that are showing more results than in the early days.

im betting money on 10/22, if you look VERY closely, its blurred from movement, but you can see the outline of a very short (front to back) yet very curved magazine the exact kind used in the ruger 10/22

It's funny we have spy satellites that can take clear pictures of somebody reading a news paper from out in space but can't seem to find one single security camera in a mall that can take a clear picture from a few feet away.

It just doesn't seem that hard to do with todays technology, maybe I'm just missing something.

Cut mine down from 20" to 16" many years ago. The feed tube also. Spring works just fine.

well, that space satellite is taking a single photograph and lenses do the zooming, mall security has to record multiple frames i believe 1 per second and multiple cameras means a **** ton of photographs taken per day and if the resolution was higher it would exponentially increase the file size per image and the mall would have to invest in a lot more hard drives to store the extra data

Maybe we should just use satellites to do mall surveillance.

Great, now there will be a run on 10/22's and Walmart and D!CK's will have to stop carrying them.

If it turns out to be a 22 that'll be interesting. With that blown up picture I think the people saying 10 22 are correct. 5 out of 5 died if it was a 22 is this proof that more shots on target means more than how big your bullet is? Usually with these mass shootings a larger cartridge is used and there are a lot more woundings.

We may never know for sure. But I believe that the 10/22 loaded with some Aguila interceptors is not a jock in many defensive situations

So they released his photo kind of a smug picture. They also released the victims names and ages. Other than the 16 year old girl that is the closest to his age group that he would be romantically involved with he's like 20, everyone else was over 50. They still haven't released what caliber of rifle. Guy is from Turkey but naturalized U.S. citizen. I'm guessing love triangle, terrorism or mad at one of the victims. Still waiting for them to release what the weapon was since they actually have it. If it had been an "assault rifle "that would have been the first thing released.

Except for the criminals element that is. You have to have some type of mental disorder to actually believe Gun Free Zone's actually prevents someone with the intent to harm others from going in with a gun. How is all those so called common sense gun control laws working out for you in all those major Democrat controlled cities. Any individual or organization that believes taking away my 2nd. Amendment rights is a good thing or a necessary evil just tells me they will eventually want all the rest of my rights as well.
I think gfz are more about preventing accidents. People arent worried about mass shootings because they are so rare. Accidents would happen far more often than mass shootings.

For example in texas we just got open carry on univ campus. only 2 months in and someone already had a negligent discharge in a dorm

maybe it will look like this.

What self-respecting secret squirrel super ninja would have such a marginally outfitted tool as this? Lacking the necessary accoutrements, specifically - no curb feelers, and the pink fuzzy dice are not dangling in a jauntily tactical manner from the (not chromed) muzzle break, it'd be a wonder if this lame contraption could fire more than one or two rounds. ☠

Malls put cameras in to get a break on their insurance rates. The go low bid on the equipment and labor. After the installation maintenance is not a high priority. When was the last time you saw anybody even dusting the protective domes of the cameras? And you would be amazed at some of the stuff I have pulled from the inside of the domes.

The lowest resolution the systems I have been maintaining ran 640X480 at 30 frames per second on the analog and 720p on the digital cameras. A 4X1 TB array stored video from up to 64 cameras for about 30 days. As the price comes down magnetic platter hard drives are being replaced with solid state drives.

Keeping Video systems working with good clear video is a labor intensive endeavor. I'm so happy "they" moved that job from me to the IT department.

The only way this gets big coverage is if he's white, used a semi auto w/detachable mag, or the shooting could be called a hate crime

Otherwise this tragedy isn't worth exploiting

Modern .22 lr ammo is not your father's plinkers. Remember that a cheap .22 revolver sent Reagan to the hospital and took down several other men along with him, including Brady who has at long last died from his injuries.

Oh yeah; and as soon as I saw the tape it was obvious that this was no *hispanic* male. The monster is Turkish

According to a couple of homicide detectives I've dealt with, few people survive a thoracic shot from a .22 lr RIFLE (not the case with a .22 pistol).
