Default Hiking/Military boot deal $30 for Bates 9"

Advertise Here

You should set back several pairs of boots. Good boots are very important.

Finding quality low priced boots is a challenge. When I do find quality products of any type, I tend to set back extras. Boots are something I keep a lot of pairs of.

I found these Bates boots. Bates is a high quality boot maker, and provide military boots to our GIs. I had some Bates in the service and know their high standards.

I found these discounted to only $30. That's a steal. They're normally over $100 and everywhere else I've seen them they are between $110 to $150.
They have limited sizes however.

https://lapolicegear.com/bates-e0869...ther-boot.html

Ordering clothing and boots/shoes online is a fitment challenge. Military boots are NOTORIOUSLY not sized correctly. I took a gamble.

I normally wear 11W to 11.5 running shoes. [My normal military boot size is as low as 9.5 to 11 and each company is somewhere between, hence the challenge]. I ordered 2 pair of 11.5 standard width and they are a perfect fitment. Very high quality and comfortable. Wearing them around the house now to break in. VERY IMPRESSED for thirty dollars. So I quickly ordered 4 more pair.

I would go with your typical running shoe size from Nike, Adidas, etc. or maybe go 1/2 size larger. Hopefully they have your size!

If you've read this far, as a bonus I found two different coupon codes that worked for me.
10% off code: textlapg10
If that fails use 5% off code lapg or lapg5

[IF you cannot find your size, they also have a few closeout house brand boots for $30 or $40 each, but I have no opinion on those.]

Use the code TRY20 for 20%, expires 1/31/20 at 11:59PM PST.

I know I have a pair of these boots, or something virtually identical, but they must be stashed away in a box or bin somewhere. Pretty sure I paid more than $30 for them, too.

I told a buddy about this and he hesitated because he wasn't sure on the 10.5 size being right for him or not.

I just told him you got the last 4. I find it hilarious he missed out because he him hawed around.

I CAN'T get footwear online although I try every now and then.
Depending on the last I wear a 12M a 12W or a 13.
I also have a high instep.

In December I tried 3 different pairs of muck type boots through AMazon (free shipping and returns) none of them fit right.

Finally went to a local boot shop....again... and found boots that work.
Paid more but I actually could try them on and walk around in them.

Buying online is a challenge. But that's why when I do find something that I know fits, or am fairly certain fits, I buy several.

I've had enough experience with Bates to suspect that an 11.5 would fit and sure enough, it does. And for these reasons I ordered a total of 6 pairs. I have several pairs of NIB cold weather boots in addition to the few pairs already in rotation, and now I'm set for warm weather hiking boots for the next couple decades now...

Last few pairs of boots purchased have been on line. Was simple enough to go to REI or Sportman's Warehouse and try them on first. If they fit well and I liked them the next step was to find that model at a lower cost. Leveraging the SIL's firefighter discount I was able to get the second pair of Asolos for even less than what was available on line.

So like LC, I am well stocked with boots for many years.

For the record; I quite buying from LAPG several years ago. Items were frequently out of stock and they would break up orders even when I stated I wanted all together to keep total shipping costs down. Couple orders were flat out wrong. Decision to dump as a vendor was simple.

I HAVe found that even in the same maker the sizes can differ between styles of boots because they go down different lines and some may be from outside the USA while others by the same maker are.

I wish everyone made a 12 1/2 .

I've bought a pair of bates once a year for the last six years.

But they don't seem to be at all what they once where. After my last pair fell apart after only six months instead of the usual 12 I switched to "maelstorm" which Ive only had for six months so far, but are more comfortable and ONE THIRD THE COST so they have already paid for themselves even if they self destructed tomorrow.

That’s a steal, but never worn bates so no idea on size. I’ve had really good luck with Keen hiking shoes I bought June of 2018 and they’re still almost new even after wearing them almost every day. Now to buy the boot version of them

Same size as you keens.

But like I said, they aren't a very good value. You can get the same or better quality cheaper. They are just another company that made a reputation at one time...but cheaped out on materials without lowering price and is now losing it.

I disagree, at least as far as this particular pair. I'm wearing now. Have an extra, and 4 pairs inbound. With discounts, yes they were sub-$30. However, they retail north of $100 and some places $150. These were simply old stock on clearance.

From wearing them for a couple days now, out and about, they are as high or higher quality than any boot I wore in service and on par with Bellevilles and higher quality than the Danners and 5.11s I had, and higher quality than some of the brands I was issued but I can't remember the names.

That might change months from now with significant wear but I'm VERY happy with these, especially for the unbelievable low price.

I received the other 4 pairs of boots today. I've received 6 pairs total, inspected them all carefully, and have been wearing 1 pair for a few days. I set back the other 5 pairs for future needs. These boots are simply excellent and comfortable.

After tax, shipping, and discounts these were about $30 each. $30 for high quality summer weather military compliant boots that normally retail for north of $100 to $150, is a heck of a deal. I can't think of a better retail deal on gear I've gotten in a long time.

If they are still on discount and still have your size these come with my highest recommendation.

I liked these boots and prices so much, yeah, I just ordered 3 more pair... the 10% off code still works.

Happy with 9 pair, for about the price of 1 or 2 normal retail, and it is fantastic.

I may be a dinosaur as my days wearing Danners 24/7 are long past but Danners in same paragraph as 5.11? I've sold some 5.11 stuff an all was way less than the hype. Most 5.11 priced as premium goods and actually gussied up chicom "stuff".
