If you dont mind telling me, how did you put the flat grind on? All on the belt sander?
Yes aws. I did most of the blade shaping with the sander, and at the very end I use a block of wood and sand paper for a hand rubbed finish. Im glad you guys like my work. Thanks.
Im not sure. if it insulates the blade well enough and sticks to the blade during the hardening process it might. Satanite is a refractory cement, so fire clay might work the same.
I have sold a few in the past and I am debating doing it full time due to the fact that I lost my job not to long ago. I make every part of my folders except the screws, I even machine the pivot pins and the thumb bobs myself. I only use titanium for the liners. And I really like working with stainless damascus.:
