Can you make a knife? Would you like to win some money for your efforts?
1st place - $300 + Maxpedition Kodiak Gearslinger
2nd place - $200
3rd place - $100
Starting October 5th, 2010 and ending November 7th we will be taking entries for the contest. Winners will be picked December 7th, 2010.
We are looking for people that need a little cash for Christmas - that is why the winner will be picked on December 7th. This gives you a couple of weeks to take care of business before Christmas. If your a doctor making $100,00+ a year, there is no need in entering. We are looking for people that need a little help, or a little extra cash for Christmas and don't mind working for it.
How to enter:
1. Start a thread about making your knife, or send a moderator a message that you would like to enter, but will be starting your thread later.
A Moderator or staff member must be notified of your intent to enter before October 31st. Once you start your thread, you must notify a moderator, and send them a link to your thread.
Pictures and a video are a plus. Pictures should be uploaded to the thread and not hosted off site.
If you do not know how to add images to your post, read this thread on how to add images.
Videos should be uploaded to a site like youtube, and then post the video URL in the thread. The site will embed the video for you.
2. Send a private message to one of the staff members or super moderators saying you would like to enter the knife making contest and include a link to your thread.

3. Links to the knife making threads will be added to this post.
4. Sometime around December 1st a poll will be added to this thread with the names of all of the people that entered.
5. Winners will be picked by popular vote of the poll.
Conditions:
The winners will have to give up their knives - sorry guys and gals. And then the knives will be shipped to 3 random members.
I (Kevin) will take care of picking the winners and the shipping. I do not want the guy making the knife to pick his best friend and give the knife to him/her, that just does not seem fair.
Considerations:
I (Kevin) am looking for a knife that will represent this forum - something that will be sent to an engraver, engraved with the website name, and sold to the public.
I'am looking for a multi-purpose knife, maybe with a 1/4 - 5/16 spine, 3 - 4 inch blade, and good quality carbon steel.
